Talk about not comparing ourselves!
Running June 19th, 2008Did you guys see this?! THIS LADY is a mother of SEXTUPLETS and ran a MARATHON right after their first birthday!
Okay, this is what would normally push me over the edge on so many levels, but I am trying to remember NOT to compare myself. Perhaps she was already a marathon runner before she became pregnant. Props to her, but what I would want to do if I had 6 kids is TAKE A NAP!!! I want to do that with the two I have, I can’t even imagine. That would send me teetering over the brink that I am trying so desparately to hold on to.

Ehh. We would all probably run 20 some miles to escape six babies. Ha ha. I imagine she felt like she was running from a tidal wave of dirty diapers and spit up rags!
To me, I don’t know how you and bigprof do it. I don’t have a job right now. In fact, in the past nine years I have only worked for ten months and that was a part time teaching job for like 3 hours a day. If I worked all day, chances are that all I would want to do is sit in front of the tv when I got home.

Trust me, if I come home and sit (as I am doing now), I am less likely to get up and exercise (hence, this weight problem). That’s why I go to the gym right from picking up the kids or as soon as everyone is awake on Saturday mornings. Yes, I will go sometimes AFTER I get dinner for everyone and hubby gets home but I have to prepare mentally through the day for it. Today, hubby is going to the gym to play volleyball, so I know it’s just me and the kids at home.
I’m not sure how I do it either!! In fact, I don’t think I do it well at all (there’s that comparison thing again) but all my friends (who are single) are amazed at how I keep things together. I think I have been in that “survival mode” since my son was born 6 years ago — I just do what I can to survive the day!
