Happy 6th Birthday!
General, Journal June 11th, 2008Today is my son’s 6th birthday. I can’t believe I have a six year old. I took the day off and he and I went to the beach. Hubby took the baby to daycare so we didn’t have to worry about her. It was fun! I can’t believe how much difference a year makes. A year ago I couldn’t even get him in near the water when we went to the beach. Today, we were in the water for 3 hours!!
Can I mention a pet peeve of mine? This happened at the gym today and I’m not sure why it bothers me but it does. It was 9am so the gym was EMPTY. There are all of 4 people using the 25 or so treadmills that they have. This girl comes in and picks the one RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!! Wha! It’s the same as when you are in a parking lot and it is empty and you are parked way out in the middle but someone has to come and park RIGHT NEXT TO YOU!! Wha?! It’s just a pet peeve, but it bothers me. Like there are plenty of other places to park or plenty of other treadmills to choose. Why the one right next to me?! And of course she was running much faster and longer than I was. Grrrrr….
Day 3 of C25k. The details are on my C25k page. I can’t believe I’m a third of the way through. That’s all I did at the gym today. I wanted to get to the beach before the rain. I still felt good though.
Food today has been a little dicey. Only because I was on the go all day and not at work.
Breakfast: pumpernickel bagel with very little jalepeno salsa cream cheese from Einstien Bagels
Lunch: 1 chipotle bbq grilled chicken snack wrap and 1 honey mustard grilled chicken snack wrap from McDonalds (I avoided the fries! Didn’t even take my son’s! YAY ME)
Dinner: making Chicken and Potato casserole — core
We are having my grandparents and mom over for cake and ice cream. I bought myself some of the weight watcher ice cream cups so I can indulge guilt free (I’m not a big cake fan so that’s not a problem)

Okay, I hate that too, but at my gym, I assume they’re doing it to get a better view of one of the TVs. I like to have a view of the TVs too, but I don’t watch them very closely since usually one has an infomercial, another a morning show, a third ESPN, ESPN2 on another, and, of course, stupid Foxnews (we butcher the truth, you fall in line). Still, they do provide some visual stimulus to distract me from my run in the beginning.
Congrats on getting 1/3 through C25K! & on having a really good strategy for combating the birthday cake temptation!
