     Had a pretty good weekend - Saturday it was nice out so we took the kids to the park. Connor had some time to run around and play with daddy while I walked around with Desmond in his sling. We spent the rest of the day cleaning the house and cooking a nice dinner. Sunday we went to visit the in-laws and Connor went for a long walk with grandpa on the golf course collecting golf balls. Had stuffed cabbage for the first time - it was pretty good.

     I’m cutting dairy out of my diet for a few days, Desmond’s pretty fussy and gassy most days so that’s the one thing I have on a daily basis. Not a big deal, I like soy milk and I don’t eat much cheese. My eating’s been pretty good, unlike most BFing women I don’t really get hungry. I can go until 2-3 in the afternoon until I feel like eating. That’s not good for my metabolism, nor is it good that I’m trying to pack all my calories in the last few hours of the day. So I really need to make an effort to balance out my eating a little and eat a couple of small meals a day. My weigh in is on Thursday so we’ll see how it goes, my unofficial weight this morning was 169.2 so at least it’s heading in the right direction.

     My mom left to go back to NY today, of course she left behind an arsenal of baked goods that we “needed” to have in the house. She likes to bake with Connor so invariably every time she comes theres muffins, breads & cookies galore. Which is great….if I wasn’t trying to avoid stuff like that at the moment! I only two cookies today which is impressive for me (usually I would take one every time I walked by). Went to the grocery store and stocked up on veggies, fruit and chicken. So dinner is grilled chicken & asparagus, maybe some greens & beans too, we’ll see.

     Phish concert was great, it was probably the first time we’ve done anything in a while without kids. DH is still in VA seeing the other two shows but I only went to the first night. My mom’s here with me so I have help with the boys. Took Connor to the park today because it was so nice and he ran around like a maniac for two hours. The kid is fearless! If they don’t give me a heart attack in the next few years I’ll be surprised - I foresee many trips to the emergency room in my future. Needless to say once we got home he ate a snack and crashed. So now both boys are asleep (yay!) but unfortunately now I have to catch up on some housework instead of relaxing - oh well. Eating was so so while we were traveling, definitely could have been better because a ceasar salad at a restaurant isn’t healthy - even though it’s a “salad”.

16.6 to go until I hit my prepreg weight, I’m going back to work mid-may and would be over the moon if I could get there but that seems a bit unrealistic. I’ll be happy with close. My mom’s coming tonight to watch the bambinos while we’re at a concert so I’m busy getting the house ready, everyone packed, the guest room cleaned and the laundry done. Hopefully Desmond is in a cooperative mood and I can actually accomplish all of it.

Weighed myself this morning and I was 169.8, yay the 160’s!  It’s only 0.2 under but I’ll take it.  I’ve been loosely following Weight Watchers for nursing moms - although it seems that no matter how much I eat I’m still losing weight, oddly this didn’t happen when I was nursing Connor. 

Did a yoga DVD yesterday - I had no motivation, it was really hard to get into it because I’m used to going to classes.  There’s just no “yoga” atmosphere at my house so I had to force my way through it.  I did some abs too which was depressing because I can hardly even feel my muscles at all!  Oh well, at least I did something - I’m just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can start walking outside again. 

3.3.09 Postpartum

I’m back and almost 5 weeks postpartum.  I ended up gaining 38#, more that I wanted but too late now!  Our Desmond Cole was born Jan 29th med-free at The Birth Center just like his brother.  Labor was quick, only 6 hours start to finish so I can’t complain.  He weighed in at 8 lbs 13.5 oz and 21 inches long - we were all shocked at his size because Connor was only 7 lbs and 18 inches and they were both full term.  He’s definitely an eater, he nurses like a champ!  Here’s a pic…

29 weeks down, 11 to go…

So I’m 29 weeks today and weighed in at 20#, I’ve only gained a pound in 3 weeks so I’m happy with that.  Although, for the life of me I don’t see how I’m going to only gain 5# over the next 11 weeks!  I know it’s possible but I’m having a hard time believing it’s possible for me.  Still trying to follow modified WW and I think that’s helping keep the weight gain at bay.

Well, I was right, it’s another boy.  I’m 26 weeks along now and have gained a whopping 19 pounds!  Considering that 25# total was my goal I’m not doing very well.  Hopefully I can mitigate some damage over the next few weeks and keep the gains to a minimum.  I have to update my belly pics - I’m huge - way bigger than I was with Connor at this point.
