This is my sister and I at Sakonnet Point in Rhode Island last October. I am 61 and she is 73/4 - somewhere around there. We don’t much talk about age in our family, except to visualize the future “when we are old” and can sit companionably on the porch smoking our corn cob pipes [...]

Lovely balmy days in the 50’s last week - even hit sixty for a while. Wonderful. Bleak-looking, with all the bare trees and dirty patches of nearly-melted snow, but so nice to be able to forego gloves and eliminate a few layers of clothes. And the pahty’s ovah? Dagnabbit! Well, I’m baaaaaack! (At work, I mean). Our phone, internet & cable TV are scheduled to be hooked up at home tomorrow. We have been effectively cut off from the rest of the world since last Thursday night. Downright disorienting, I tell you.
