Yeah, I figured that weigh-in was skewed. But that’s okay. It’ll come off. Again!
Today, Hubby and I are going to a big flea market that’s only about 20 miles away but in all the time we’ve been together we’ve never gone to it before. Lots and lots of walking! I am expecting to put in at least two solid hours of walking today - leisurely walking but it’s exercise nevertheless. It’s also excruciatingly hot outside still. Does exercise plus heat equal extra calories burned? If it doesn’t, it damn well should. It is so much harder to move around when it’s this hot.
I miss Minnesota and Wisconsin! The weather was so gorgeous while I was there!
Hubby and I went to Sam’s Club yesterday and I bought a membership there. We weren’t planning to go straight home, so we didn’t buy any frozen or refrigerated foods, but we’re definitely going back there sometime soon. It was kinda funny, weaving through the aisles, stopping at all the little sample stops to try food. He’s a picky eater and I’m doing the low-carb-thing, so there weren’t many samples that either one of us was willing to try, but we did manage to find a couple goodies that we’ll be buying simply because we both liked the sample. Great marketing technique!
One of the goodies was an “pre-seasoned-apple-bacon-wrapped-pork-loin” which was on sale in the meat department at $3.49 a lb. Almost zero carbs (I’m happy!) and really tasty pork (Hubby’s happy too)! Oh yeah we’ll definitely be going back for that. Maybe today.
Years ago I had a membership at Sam’s through my job, and I actually found myself spending more money than usual instead of less, just because “It’s a great deal!” That’s okay though, because I love the convenience of not shopping as often, just because you can buy in such large quantities. I never actually added it up to see if it’s more or less expenditure in the long run. Maybe it’s less because I have to buy less often but maybe it’s more because I’m buying stuff that I wouldn’t normally buy. I dunno.
Though I miss the cool weather up north (and seeing my sister), I’m still really happy to be home.

I’d love to get a membership there- but we’d have no extra room for all the food! When we get our own house I plan on having one of those extra freezers

Yes walking is exercise- last week I took a two hour walk!
I ditto walking as exercise, and I do think the heat adds to the calorie burn because your body is having to regulate your body temp. It doesnt always show in a scale, because excess sweat is compensated by excess water retention to replace it…
The pork roast sounds yummy….
I LOVE Sam’s club (& BJ’s club). With 4 sons , DH & I we need bulk in a lot of stuff! LOL

We used a coupon for Sam’s a few months ago and ended up buying a membership, which was the furthest thing from my mind. I don’t go too often because it requires cash, good thing they don’t take Visa! But there’s a few things I get regularly, like the 5lb cottage cheese, the cod loins, 2 lb blocks of cheese, milk and fruits.
I was also wondering about the w8challenge, went by there a couple times so far, to get it started. Hope all is well.

I have fallen off of the wagon so hard I regained every pound that I lost over the last year. No matter how hard that fall is, no matter how much damage is done we need to get up, dust ourself off, and get back on. Even if it is hard we NEED to do this Eileen. Come on start again with me. YOU CAN do this! Come back to the site, NO judgements here!! NONE we just are her to hold each other up, cheer each other on, and try to help each other to get back on the right path. Ugh! I came back to 3fc looking forward to reconnecting with everyone here & you’re gone. I came back knowing the W8 challenge would motivate me to change my flabby ways & start eating right & exercising an hour a day & it’s gone.
