Except for my knees, I feel wonderful!  My back is still giving me a twinge now and then but I can stand upright and move normally (not like a disjointed robot, lol) so I am very thankful for that!  I have a big (working) weekend coming up and I’m so happy that I feel so good!disney

Yeah, I’ll be at a hotel on Disney property from Thursday to Sunday.  I called the resort and asked them if they had tennis courts (omg am I addicted or what?!) and they said that they do have tennis courts but guests need to bring their own rackets and balls (which I expected) BUT it costs 12 BUCKS AN HOUR PER PERSON to use the court!  OMG!!  Poor Walt would be astounded to know that his dream for a happy place for families had turned into such a cash-sucking-leech!

Guess who ain’t-a-gonna be playing tennis.  **Frustrated and exasperated sigh**

Speaking of tennis (lol like I talk about anything else lately), I went to the court with my son last night and tried to play.  I say “tried” because it actually didn’t work out so well.  My knees were hurting me and I couldn’t run.  Granted, I don’t run all that much anyway but last night I couldn’t run at ALL, and that was frustrating me big time.  I know it’s because of the 2 HOURS of tennis that hubby and I put in on Sunday, that my knees are all swollen, but it was annoying nevertheless.  I gave up after only 30 minutes, and I left the tennis court in tears.  (Poor Kevin, I think he thought I was unhinged or something!)  (Okay maybe I was, a little.)  (LOL!!)

Oh trust me…living less than 30 minutes from Disneyland itself, Walt was ALWAYS a cash-sucking leech. Loved him dearly, but Disneyland has ALWAYS cost an arm and a leg. AND, having worked for companies that deal with Buena Vista (Disney), it’s LEGENDARY how crappy they treat their own employees! That said, sorry to hear about your aches and pains. I had a feeling when you mentioned 2 hours of tennis right after being all but bedridden with your back for a few days…that it would come back to haunt you. wish I’d been wrong. :( Be gentle to yourself! Tennis courts aren’t going anywhere! ;) :: hugs ::

Walt Disney- I love that man- you know how they ask if you could talk to one person who is dead who would it be? It’d definitely be him for me! I mean I read his life story and I feel like I can totally relate! Growing up poor, had an abusive father, worked my arse off to a father who STILL doesn’t believe in me- and so on.

LUCKY DUCK you are going to disneyworld I’m so jealous- I’d LOVE to go there- I told my hubby we are going when we have kids that are old enough to appreciate it- like maybe 5-8 years old or something?

Take it easy on the knees girl! And hey I say go and splurge on playing tennis!

I bet you could google the area around Disney to find a public tennis court. I don’t know if that would fit into your plans but it’s an idea.

    Have fun!

brseay THANK YOU! What a wonderful idea! I did exactly that and found a public tennis court in Kissimmee, about “18 minutes” away from our hotel. I called Kissimmee Parks & Recreation department and the lady there told me that there are several courts and they aren’t usually full - and - they have lights at night and the courts are open until 9:30pm. Woohooooo!!!

And oh, btw we’re not actually going to Disney World, not to the parks. We’re going to a conference that just happens to be on Disney property. At $67.50 per person (and that’s with the Florida Resident discount) for a one-day pass to one park, that would be $270 for the four of us - and uh, I have to work anyway!

A conference in Florida sounds ideal this time of year! I hope you have a great time, work aside.

What are you doing for your knees, btw? Mine are a mess as well, but my strategy is to try to ignore them & that’s not really working out too well :)
    Travel safe!

Hope you’re enjoying yourself Eileen. :)

They are out of their mind. As if we don’t spend enough money while there. I bet they figure if we spent our time in the tennis court for free, they’d be losing money in the junk food we weren’t buying instead!

Better to be a tennis addict than a food addict! Glad you’re loving it so much. Hope you feel better and enjoy your trip

I played tennis thursday for the first time in 5 years and I really enjoyed, thinking about making it a regular thing aslong as I can get my partner to join me!!
