————————————————————————————–

Hubby and I went garage-sailing this morning - rode around in my Mustang with the top down, it was SO gorgeous out!  We didn’t buy much (which is probably good) but the outing and the company were awesome.  =D

Last night we went to pick up our son from my brother’s house.  This past week was Spring Break from school and the poor kid had to go and WORK for his uncle.  He surprised me, though, wkevinhen I got there, by announcing that he’d just joined the April Challenge!  Woohoo.  Little twerp posted NINE stars though because of all the work her did for his uncle!!!

Anyway, it’s just cool that my 16-year-old SON would WANT to join a bunch of ladies in dieting and exercise!!  Ha!  He told me last night on the way home that he considers himself “lucky” in the parents department.  I was like, “Awwwww, that is so sweet” until he went on to say, “You know, like compared to kids whose parents are homeless or drug addicts, yeah I’m pretty lucky.”  LOL!!!  Yeah you’re lucky, kid, you’re also grounded now.  Har har HAR!  =D

He’s really funny.  I’m so proud of him I could burst!

Edited to add:  This is his picture from his myspace page.  I personally don’t care much for photos that highlight one’s nostrils.  =D

You’re so lucky to have warm enough weather for the convertible; we’re under a winter storm warning. Didn’t Mother Nature remember that winter is over????

Your son is awesome but tell him that there’s a 35 year-old lady in Iowa who’s going to kick his butt. I don’t take pity on kids, you can ask my students when I demolish them in the badminton tournament at our school :)

I think it’s great that he feels close to you guys and is willing to do the same things as you. I’d like my 15 yr old to want to participate instead of me making him do everything

that is so cool that he joined the challenge :)
as for me, its already the 4th and I can barely make it on here to blog and comment, so I think i may pass on the april challenge. although, I am still doing my plan and working out, hehe. Its just going to be a busy month :(

I got the message you left for me. Yes, I did join the W8 challenge but cannot for the life of me figure out how to add my stars. Also, I’m sort of at the beginning of exercising again at this time. I was doing great back in September, going to the gym at least 3 times a week, working up to 4 and doing the elliptical for up to 45 minutes. THEN. . . . . I got stung by a Texas Wasp on the bottom of my foot which abscessed, put me in the hospital for 8 days and surgery and I have not been able to put any extra pressure on it since then. It is STILL not quite healed. I go back to the doctor every 2 weeks and he debrides it. Every time I see him he says “two more weeks”. He has stopped saying the “H” word (healed) cuz he says maybe he jinxed it, lol. Anyway I have been on the stationary bike some but cannot put the pressure on my foot to do the treadmill. I tried the elliptical the other day and I’ve lost it. I could only do 10 minutes and I felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest and I was gonna have a heart attack. Soooooo, I’ve gotta start all over again.
Thanks for the welcome. That’s great that your son has joined in. Just see if he can persevere with all these ladies to stay in the game for the long run. lol. He sounds real cute.

    Hey Eileen
what a lovely story about your son. I feel the same way about mine. Mine has been doing wii fit and turned vegetarian. I was on facebook this morning when he contacted me to tell me he was very proud because he’s gone from being “obese” to merely “overweight”. I’m sad that he got my fat genes and lazy attitude, but glad that he’s doing something about it now and not embarrassed to be making the effort.

I was a bit disappointed with myself to see that I hadn’t made much of an impression with my March challenge. Got to try a whole lot harder this month.

txcraftr - I’m still working on trying to figure out a way to make the stars automated - in the meantime you could just enter the number so at least you’re showing in the standings! Wow I hope your foot actually “h-words” very soon!!!

feathers - Hi! great to see you back. YAY for your son, that’s wonderful news!! I switched you over to April if ya wanna join in!! The challenge is at http://www.w8challenge.com, your login is feathers and your password is a lower-case-four-letter-word aka your dog! =D
