————————————————————————————–

I had to travel unexpectedly for work last night, got only about three hours of sleep and was at an event at six-thirty this morning!  I should get a star or something for that, lol.  By the time I got home this afternoon I could barely keep my eyes open, so I took a nap.  Ahhhh naps are so delicious.  I can’t believe I fought them so hard when I was a youngin’.

The March Challenge is winding down (only three more days!) and I’m SO looking forward to a brand-spanking-new April!  I’m gonna kick BUTT in April!  =D  I’m doing some serious thinking about how I’m gonna change things up in April because I haven’t been losing weight anymore.  I lost 50 lbs. in five months - and then the next three months I lost ZIP.  So I need to do something different.  I stepped up the exercise and that didn’t work, so it’s time to change the eating again.  So yeah, I’m really excited about April.  It’s a new start.  A fresh beginning!!!

I posted the standings up there but some haven’t updated their stars for a few days.  Okay so here’s an announcement:  EVERYONE HAS UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON APRIL 1 to post their March stars!!!  At that point, whether you’ve reported your stars or NOT, a winner will be named!!  If you don’t feel comfortable with the website, just let me know what your stars are and I’ll post them for you!

By the way, I’m very happy that Joy (callmejj) has decided to join the April Challenge - AND - has offered to donate an actual PRIZE for the April winner!!!  (The prize is a HUNGRY GIRL cookbook, which is VERY cool!!!)  WOOHOOOO JOY!!!!  Thank you!!

By the way, on the www.w8challenge.com website, I did add another way for people to post their daily star graphics.  I think it’s a bit easier for those who don’t feel comfortable with the whole zip-file thing.  (The old way still works too.)

Thw w8challenge website really took a load off your blog huh? So quiet in here the past few days :) I went and signed up for the April challenege. I just used the name inkheartmeggie since the original was already taken and I was too impatient to wait until April 1st to transfer it over. I set up my food goals. I’m excited to have it set up. Half of March (or more) was messy for me, so hopefully I can beat out my current star total in April. In fact, I want a red star. So that’s what I’m shooting for. When I eat right and exercise, I lose weight, simple as that. As soon as I skip or other or both I stall or gain. Let’s see if I ate right every day and exercised 90 min every day that’d be 75 stars. There’s no reason why I shouldn’t be able to reach 50! Eileen, what have you done? Turn me into a star ‘ho.

I like the inkheartmeggie name =D You can still type in just inkheartmeg on the group page if you want to. (edited to add: I see you did that. Never mind! LOL)

I got your suggestion - and I like it! Like I said, reporting my stars was a level of accountability that really worked for me. I’m trying to figure out, though, how to have it in both places because I also like having my own private record where I can see my own progress during the month.

A table with everyone’s daily food and exercise stars would have them all mixed in, and the default sort is (sort of) the order they were entered in. And the default sort is also oldest-to-youngest. I know we can all click on the column headers to re-sort, but I haven’t figured out how to change those defaults!

But I’m working on it. I’m taking an online PHP programming course. I’m about - oh - 1/5 of the way through it. I think. Some of the later modules might be longer, I dunno.

Eileen - If there’s any help you need with the website, I’m a PHP programmer / web designer so I’d be more than happy to help you out. :D

ETA: I think there’s a few things that I could really help out with (i.e. not having to create a new username for the April Challenge, automatically populating the group view page, etc) I love programming content management systems like this. It’s so much fun!
