————————————————————————————–

I got me two o’ them there stars today!  =D  One for eating on plan and one for the hour of exercise I put in during Dancing with the Stars tonight.  I did a half-hour on the elliptical and then a half-hour on the exercise bike.  Tomorrow I’m gonna try to double that!

By the way, I’m still scale-free.  I plan on weighing in this Saturday morning and I’m starting to feel what I was hoping to feel - the pressure of the impending weigh-in.  Because I’ve been weighing in every day, I don’t actually expect much of a change every day — but weekly, that’s another story.  I haven’t seen a downward trend in weeks but THIS week I wanna see some progress!  And I know that ain’t-a-gonna happen unless I put in some significant exercise time.  And this measly little hour-per-day isn’t enough.

I need to start, though, by getting enough sleep at night.  I’m a night-owl, always have been, and I don’t require ten hours of sleep every night but I feel it if I don’t get about seven.  I am lucky to have a job that allows for a flexible schedule, but often I can’t sleep in as late as I’d like in the morning and then after work I’m t-i-r-e-d and the last thing I feel like doing is exercising.  Like tomorrow, I have a lunch appointment so I need to be at work by 9:30am to get some stuff done before the lunch.  Yet here it is 1:00am and I’m nowhere near ready to go to sleep!  I’ll probably settle down around 2:30 and then be up by 8:30 - and on six hours sleep I’ll be all omg-i’m-too-tired-to-exercise come tomorrow night.

One reason I’m up so late is because my hubby doesn’t get home until 11:30pm.  He doesn’t have to be anywhere in the morning so he stays up late - and we go to bed together so we generally don’t get to sleep before 2:30 or 3:00 in the morning.

I’m gonna try to scale it back a little at a time.  Starting tonight I’m gonna try to be in bed by 2:00.  Then tomorrow I’ll shoot for 1:30.  I think putting sleep as a priority will help a lot.
