Wooohoooo I gotta GREEN star today!!! I know some others are gonna be getting them too, when they report in, YAY!!! Who woulda known that I would be getting this excited over a green star?!?
I did great on my eating today, I love it when I have carbs left over! I actually counted something that I haven’t eaten yet - even though it’s like midnight - because I’m gonna indulge before bed (one of those cream-cheese clouds, yummm).
Okay so I was reading photogirljen’s blog and she was saying how she got these workout videos off of her OnDemand and of course I was envious of that and left a comment saying so. So she left me a comment with a suggestion to go to Exercise TV, that they have some free videos there. So I did check it out and it was pretty cool but ya hafta join something to download and so I didn’t end up getting anything there. BUT it was very helpful anyway (thank you photogirljen!) because checking out all those videos made me wanna DO one. And guess what? I already have a couple. Exercise videos. Really old ones.
If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time then you probably know that my husband and I are thrift-store-shoppers. Hubby buys electronics and funny t-shirts, I buy books and videos. DVD, VHS, I don’t care. I have a zillion chick-flicks. And yeah, a couple exercise videos.
So I hunted one down. Well, I couldn’t do the DDR thing but as long as there wasn’t any jumping around I didn’t see why I couldn’t do some step-kick-deep-bend stuff set to music!

Now before ya fall off your chair laughing, I wanna tell ya, I really liked it!! It was low-impact on my knees (I would have modified if it hadn’t been, I’m that paranoid about another injury), yet it was enough to leave me drenched in sweat and feeling like I’d just burned off a calorie or two. I wish I’d remembered to wear my heart monitor! Ah, well, next time.
It was a mixture of cardio, stretching, and toning. I got out my 2-lb weights and was determined to follow along with every single move those five skinny ladies on the screen did. And Woohoo I did it!
Okay, the video was about 45 minutes long. So I took a break and then hopped on the elliptical for 30 minutes, then immediately grabbed the 10-lb weights and went through my lifting exercises for 15 minutes. And - TA-DA! I put in an hour and a half of exercise today! OMG it just zoomed by!
My co-workers and I went out to lunch today to this place that’s right on the bike trail. It was a beautiful day and I saw that many people were out on their bicycles - I miss it!!! I miss getting out there! I think I’ll suggest a bike ride to Hubby, maybe on Sunday. =D
