Still holding steady at exactly 235.8 - I actually said a little prayer this morning, kinda like “Please let it be 235.6 today so I can at least see some progress!” but the scale didn’t comply.  But that’s okay, because I have good news today - well, it’s good to me anyway.  TOM finally arrived!  It’s been 10 weeks.  TEN!  I wasn’t surprised to skip a month but I was surprised that it didn’t show up a week or two ago.  Weird.

Annnnyway, I’m just happy it’s finally here because always always when it’s over I have a drop in weight!  Woooohoooo so there’s an end to this threshhold on the horizon, I just know it!!!

I’m so happy that so many of y’all have decided to join me in this challenge!!!  You guys are doing so GOOD!!  This is so fun for me and SO motivating!!  I did great all day on my eating and I was planning to put in at least an hour-and-a-half of exercise but I had to help my son - he’s trying to get a job at the local grocery store.  *Sigh* There’s a story.

He and I have been talking about how he could separate himself from the herd and get management to notice him because there’s a kazillion kids his same age trying for the same job.  A while back, he actually went to the store and made a list of the aisles and where everything is.  He studied the list and I spent days quizzing him until he felt confident that he knew what was in each aisle.  He did this so that he could impress the evening shift manager.  Tonight he was planning to approach the guy, introduce himself, and make a short speech (30 seconds) ending with a request to “please quiz me.”

I drove him up to the store and we sat in the car, in the parking lot, for a half hour or so while he practiced his speech over and over.  He was so nervous.  He’s only 16, this is really new territory for him.  He went inside, found the manager, asked him for just a moment of his time and made his pitch.

The manager refused to quiz him, refused to ask him a single thing and allow him to demonstrate what he’d done.  When I heard this, I was so pissed.  Now obviously this kid had put a lot of work into getting ready for this encounter - and the guy couldn’t play along and at least let the kid shine for a second or two?!?  He told Kevin that he was too busy right now and that Kevin should just turn his application in and wait to be called.  Kevin asked him if he could come back some other time when he wasn’t so busy and the guy said, “That’s not necessary, I will talk to Human Resources”  — which is the only (possibly) positive thing I heard from Kevin’s description of their conversation.

If Kevin doesn’t get this job, I’m gonna go kick that guy’s ass.  Okay maybe I won’t actually kick it but I’ll really really wanna.

So anyway, I put in a half-hour on the elliptical tonight, so that’s 1 1/2 stars for me today.  I’m happy with that!!
