After our nine-mile ride yesterday, the jacuzzi at the hotel was perfect, perfect, perfect. We relaxed in the hot bubbly water for a little over a half-hour and then sat out by the pool, talking. I could have stayed there forever! This morning when we got up we intended to take a dip in the pool but the water was coooold (!) so we spent some time in the jacuzzi again.
After lunch we had an appointment to see a lady about a bike. Two bikes, actually. She had advertised a bike for sale in one of the local classified newspapers but really she had two for us to look at, one man’s and one woman’s. Both bikes had been hanging on a rack in her garage for more than five years, so the tires & tubes were dry-rotted and the bikes were both a bit dusty and in need of oil - but they are good bicycles. We bought ‘em both. My hubby will fix them up. So now Eric (my oldest son) will have a bike to ride if he wants to go with us on one of our outings and we’ll have a spare (woman’s) bike as well.
My knees were hurting - ouuuuuch! - and I really really did not want to ride again today but my hubby teased me through it. “No pain, no gain,” and “Quitchyer whinin’,” said in just the right I’m-joking-but-c’mon-tone … and I was up on that bike and working through the pain. After a mile-and-a-half, my muscles warmed up and my knees stopped screaming at me. After two miles, I was feeling strong. We went to the bookstore and back, and my knees are feeling better now than they did before we left. How weird is that?!?
