Walking and Dog Walking

Posted by: delitaagain In: New Me

So, yesterday I did good. I drank two huge glasses of water and then another before bed. That’s probably over 60 ounces. One goal down.

And, after a very good day doing things around the *house* (Joy, the RV) which made me feel really good, I actually… ta da… did walk! By the way, dietbuddydaily’s blog inspired me to do things around the house after making a list of things I like which included: fix something, clean something, organize something. So, I did! What a nice day!

BurbsThe pic is a small shopping center as I headed off into the ‘burbs just after sunset. I walked through a very nice neighborhood for 45 minutes.

I’m still focusing on eating the fish stew leftovers and drinking soup. Yesterday, no oatmeal for breakfast but I did remember how to poach two eggs. =)

Now here’s the part about dog walking. I don’t have a dog. But, I understand that if I did, that dog would have to get walked. A friend raised a service dog once and the contract her new owners had to sign included the commitment to walk that dog - rain, shine, snow, ice - 20 minutes, twice a day, every day, no excuses.

Well, I’m not that good to me! Does this mean I would treat a dog better than I treat myself?

Yikes! I got all inspired then woke up to rain at 6:30 AM with the temp dropping and just now to about 32 degrees. I have not walked today, and may not. Hmmmm…

Water and Walking

Posted by: delitaagain In: New Me

So, I’m feeling better. Better than when? Better than when I was craving everything and eating candy, yuk, drinking soft drinks, eating just plain too much. Not that long ago… just last year and early this year. Less than a month ago. And I’m down at least a size. At least my pants fit!

I’m not craving, I’m eating reasonable portions and not snacking. And I don’t feel like a total lump. I feel good!

But I’m not really drinking water, and not exercising,… not even spending time outside. Silly while living in a camper.

Yesterday, I did walk around the neighborhood where I parked. Lessee… Walmart, Dollar Tree, Aldi,… Can you really count this as a walk? I probably walked 4 blocks. Better than nada. Beautiful day!

So my goal today is to walk. Like, in the woods. Or at least somewhere nice.

And, goal two: drink some water. Water without anything. I have one of those pure water pitchers; I should use it! LOL By the way the fish stew was even much more tasty the second day, flavors blended. YUM!

More Eating and RVing

Posted by: delitaagain In: New Me

The pic is Joy, my RV, parked in front of a friend’s house with our fast melting snow.

Today for lunch I had a Walmart store brand chicken patty on a (supposedly) whole grain bun with a bit of sharp cheddar, mayo and a few cubes of pickled jalapeno, plus one of the hot tomato drinks (see below). I’ll have some leftover fish stew for dinner (see yesterday).

In answer to Sandi’s question, the fish used is canned Mackeral. It was good, cheap and convenient, but I’m glad I’m traveling alone as Joy still smells like fish. =p

Eating and RVing

Fish StewToday was an opportunity to stock up at Walmart. This made it easy to get the ingredients for the fish stew that was first on my wishlist, plus a good bit more that will be a blessing over the next week. I found the recipe on allrecipes.com. It was good! And, I have leftovers. =)

I also switched from honey to molasses. I think I will use less and it is cheaper and better for me. I use it in oatmeal with peanut butter and will drink my tea unsweetened.

OK! This was my first post from my phone. I will check it tomorrow when at a computer.

New Favorite Warm Winters Drink

Posted by: delitaagain In: New Me

I asked a couple weeks ago about favorite drinks to warm you on a winters night. Last night, I stumbled on a new favorite for me.

I like tomato soup. Not anything fancy, not even cream of tomato, just plain condensed tomato soup heated with a can of water added. Plain and filling. Sometimes, I might add a bit of butter, a little basil or oregano, and almost always a couple grinds of pepper.

Simple. But soup. Even though I drink it from a mug, it was still drinking *soup,* not really a drink but soup.

Last night I started to make a cup of beef broth from sodium free beef broth granules, then decided I wanted some soup. I already had the water started, so just chunked my can of condensed tomato soup right in, along with my beef broth granules.

It was a little more water than I usually use, maybe 1 & 1/2 cans of water and about a teaspoon of the beef broth granules. But, oh! That much water just thinned out my soup and the touch of beef flavor made it a great hot drink.

I know. Simple. But, um, um good. I’ve already had it again and it s a winner! A new favorite!

Play along: What do you enjoy drinking that is *good for you?*
