Thank you, thank you, thank you all very much! (Said in my best Elvis tones! lol)
Really, I’m thrilled. I worked so hard this month, but had quite a few ups and downs, I’m just sooooooooooooooo grateful that Eileen started all this and that all of you came out to play!
I probably don’t have to tell [...]
My workouts have really been my focus here for the last few weeks. It takes me back…
When I was 22-23, I worked in heavy construction after riding a 10-speed bike 10-20 miles a day. My weight was about 20-30 pounds above where I wanted it, and, it didn’t really come down, at the time.
But later, [...]

There are some things that rob us of our life.
Laziness. Fear. Bad habits like procrastination and problems with punctuality. Being undisciplined. Being fat is one of them.
I choose to lose the overweight. Any weight I carry over what I need to be happy and healthy is a burden, is slowing me down, robbing me.
Not only [...]

BMI is a wake-up call for many but has fallen from grace as a marker. Mainly, because it doesn’t take into account the weight of muscle or make allowance for “large bones.” For example, weight lifters are sometimes categorized by BMI as overweight even though their body fat percentage is low.
You probably don’t hear much [...]

Susan, over at Happy Hag got me thinking with this question, quoting Patty, at Sistah Pat: at what age can you say the hell with it and slip gradually into the “Grandmotherly Figure”?
Well, I’d say I’ve accomplished the grandmotherly figure and surpassed it!
Now that I’m fast approaching GREAT-grandchildren (Lord willing), I am fighting to ditch [...]

This may be the most important post I’ve ever posted. Please check out: A Paleo Diet Diary by a fifty-something man with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high triglycerides who used Paleo eating and exercise to turn his health around.

He blogged for only one year and then left the blog up [...]

After doing my workout this morning, this is the song I wanted to hear. Mine is by Kenneth Copeland on The Kenneth Copeland Collection, so I know it has to be on at least one more… Very upbeat, and inspiring lyrics. I think it is also on a walking music CD I have.
Title: “I Cannot [...]

1) Physical Activity
2) Overweight and Obesity
From Healthy People 2010, a U.S. government initiative that challenges “individuals, communities, and professionals indeed, all of us to take specific steps to ensure that good health, as well as long life, are enjoyed by all.”
Apparently this is an upper level thing that may or may not be trickling down [...]

Today I found a book by Christopher Hopkins: Staging Your Comeback: A Complete Beauty Revival for Women Over 45. He calls this part of our life “The Second Act.” I really like that concept.
I read somewhere today (maybe there) that 40ies are old for being young, and 50ies are young for old age. That’s exactly what [...]
I just read a blog post on Confessions of a Bulk Eater about an article on MSN linking early ear infection to obesity in adults. She makes the joke that she is *not* going to go out and eat pizza over this news.
We all know how that works! LOL And, we have probably [...]
Believe me - I don’t feel bad. I’m still keyed up to be doing all this.
Today is reminding me not to look too long at the numbers, just stay focused on doing the plan. Doing the plan. Doing the plan.
Trust the process and do the plan. As long as I do the plan long enough [...]
