Walking and Dog Walking

Posted by: delitaagain In: New Me

So, yesterday I did good. I drank two huge glasses of water and then another before bed. That’s probably over 60 ounces. One goal down.

And, after a very good day doing things around the *house* (Joy, the RV) which made me feel really good, I actually… ta da… did walk! By the way, dietbuddydaily’s blog inspired me to do things around the house after making a list of things I like which included: fix something, clean something, organize something. So, I did! What a nice day!

BurbsThe pic is a small shopping center as I headed off into the ‘burbs just after sunset. I walked through a very nice neighborhood for 45 minutes.

I’m still focusing on eating the fish stew leftovers and drinking soup. Yesterday, no oatmeal for breakfast but I did remember how to poach two eggs. =)

Now here’s the part about dog walking. I don’t have a dog. But, I understand that if I did, that dog would have to get walked. A friend raised a service dog once and the contract her new owners had to sign included the commitment to walk that dog - rain, shine, snow, ice - 20 minutes, twice a day, every day, no excuses.

Well, I’m not that good to me! Does this mean I would treat a dog better than I treat myself?

Yikes! I got all inspired then woke up to rain at 6:30 AM with the temp dropping and just now to about 32 degrees. I have not walked today, and may not. Hmmmm…

Play along: How do you inspire yourself to do what’s good for you?

I inspire myself by hanging a fabulous outfit that I want to wear this summer in front of my treadmill where I always see it. It’s just a pair of jeans and a tank-top with a sheer blouse over it but darn I’ll look hot. XD

Just looking in the full length mirror inspires me to get moving. I never thought I would say that I like going to the gym, but I do! I think it’s the difference of having the pool to exercise in, and seeing women older and heavier than me. I don’t feel embarrased in a bathing suit like I thought I would be. :)

I can inspire myself to read and pray because my life is so much better whenI do.Not much experience in the outward body.

I inspire myself by thinking about how much better I will feel when I’m healthy. And I think about how fun it will be, once I’ve lost some weight, to actually let myself go buy some new clothes that fit and look great!

Ooo, Jenn - good one! I should get me a nice something… Come to think of it, if I lose another size, I will need jeans. =) =)

Sandi, that is so great. I am so happy for you. I bet you are really starting to feel better like regular exercise does for you, too! Delita

Missita, that is it, isn’t it? I’m learning to make the actual delayed gratification choices too myself. I must say there were some decades there when it seemed like it would never happen. You are doing so GREAT! Delita
