Encouragment

Posted by: delitaagain In: New Me

So this week I am meditating on Philippians 4:13:

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

But I noticed the footnote in the New Living Translation says that rather than “through Christ” the Greek says “through the One.” And that verb “strengthens” is present tense continuous (ongoing) so a good paraphrase might be:

I can do all things through the One who is strengthening me.

So, I can do this. But not in my own strength. In the strength of Christ, the One who is strengthening me.

I can see that using this New Me Weight Plan will be a great spiritual exercise as well as the answer I’ve been looking for, if I will stick with it.

When I remember this verse, it encourages me, because I know He has the strength and is willing to give it to me.

Play along: What is something you once stuck with that turned out to be a good thing?

It’s an interesting question, isn’t it? Especially since it much easier to stick to bad habits than it is to learn - and stick to - good habits.

tj, it is interesting, isn’t it. I’ve been thinking about it ever since writing it! I guess the one thing I stuck with the best that turned out to be a good thing was AA. If I stick with this the way I stuck with that… My life is so *flexible* I have no idea what food choices I will have day to do, but we do always have some, don’t we. This blog is my best opportunity for support on this *new and different* weight plan. Thanks for playing! Delita
