Goals: Gotta Love ‘Em!

Posted by: delitaagain In: Goals

I made a six month goal about 5 months ago. It may be best not to think about that one now. ;-p Maybe it was just a tad lofty! LOL

But the w8challenge idea is still working for me, and now I’m thinking up a new semi-longterm goal.

In a few days it will be eight months since beginning again, and four months to go to one year. Hmmm. I’ve lost 51.2 in the eight months and I’m 31 pounds from *onederland.* Think I can do it?

That would put me at 82.2 pounds lost for the year, 101 pounds total loss, with *only* 49 pounds to goal.

Got the idea from thinking that if I could keep losing at this rate… we could expect about 25 pounds in 4 months. But why not 31? Get radical! Go for it! All that stuff.

I could always get consistent on CrossFit and tighten up the food again. Really. And maybe even fit in a little extra walking/running/hiking. Sure. Why not? It is springtime!

Why not, indeed? Hmmm.

What goal would you like to make?

I try to not make weight goals but those are the most easily measured so my goal is be be below 200 before school starts again in August. I want to be out of the 220’s by June (I’m 232 now) which gives me 2 1/2 months to lose the next 20. This is close to unchartered territory b/c the lowest adult weight I can remember is 223 over 4 years ago!!

What’s my goal? Get this: without even trying hard on my 2 off days per week, this passed week I weighed in yesterday with a 2.5 lbs loss and 1/2 inch from my waist. That makes a total of 6 pounds and 1 inch since February, following the program I chose, without exercising. Now, if I set a goal to exercise in some way, there is no telling how much faster the weight/inches would melt away!
I’m not sure if I ever mentioned to you my highest weight in the 80’s was 232. I started a program in February at 184 and now weigh 177.8 (digital scale). My goal is 140 and I’ll see how it goes at that point since I’m 5′1″. :)

brseay, woohoo!Looka you! I agree, I don’t usually set *weight* goals, but more likely behavior/performance goals - like exercise or food plan goals. I’m just wanting to find a way to keep going (not slow down) and inspire myself to really buckle down. Besides, if I can get down there by the end of *my* year (Aug. 10) then I will be two sizes down again before heading for fall clothes, which would be nice. I’d rather change sizes before the season rather than in the middle. Thanks for your vote of confidence! Delita

Eileen, thank you! I really am trying to convince myself. BUT, if I do everything right and only make it a good distance toward the goal - what have I lost?? I’m thinking why not? Delita
