Weigh-in: Week 32, Plateau City

Posted by: delitaagain In: Weigh-In!!

This is the first week I have had to post a gain since mid-November: one pound. It has been a struggle to get below or even hold the loss since seeing 232.8 three weeks ago.

Not sure what it will take to break this. My family keeps pointing out it may be that I am building muscle. I believe I am, but don’t think that is it. I’m more inclined to blame the steady, quick loss for so long that my body is now resisting losing more.

The bottom line is, I am only one pound below where I was one month ago. Moving back to NC tomorrow may make the needed difference as my living (and eating and working out) situation will change again.

If the plateau doesn’t break on its own in the next week or two, I’ll work on changing things up drastically enough to shake myself off the plateau.

Still, this is a grand total of 67 pounds down from top weight, 48.2 pounds lost since beginning again and just over 50 since late July last year, when I decided to *do something…*

I’m heading back to North Carolina tomorrow 23.4, pounds lighter than when I came to Colorado in November. All this is good!

What is your good news?

What do you mean, “headin back to NC”? Are you here for good or just for a vacay? Regardless, you’re coming back to awesome weather! Hold on to your hat, and your sunscreen!

And for the 1 pound gain, I was utterly amazed when I read “This is the first week I have had to post a gain since mid-November.” That is awesomely awesome. Seriously. Maybe not for you, but for me, no gain since November is like a miracle or something. Keep it up.

I am so impressed that this is the first gain since mid-November. That’s going through the holidays w/a loss. I would agree w/you, I think your body is readjusting. Give it a couple of weeks and then if things don’t change try shaking it up!!

You have come so far and done a tremendous job.

I think you are doing great. I think if you are patient and keep with it you will see a loss soon. I hope that your move goes well.
Take care

Hope your move went smoothly. Just hang tough- plateaus are so hard, but if you stick with your program, maybe vary up the workout routine a little, you can bust through it.
Good luck, I’m pulling for you!

54+ stars for the month of March… You kick butt on exercise. I don’t know about the food. If I had to guess it’s muscles too. Either way, be proud of your accomplishments and carry on! If it doesn’t change you might consider the food and drink area. I’m aiming for a red star in April so you’ll have some competition. I’m also hoping sterling will join. She’ll probably wipe the floor with all of us but it’ll be fun to try, anyways.

Hi Delita,

I’ve certainly struggled with plateauing, too..it’s SOOOO frustrating!! It sounds like you’re doing everything right, though, and I bet that a change in scenery will be the little push you need to get things moving again. The only thing I’ve learned from my plateaus is that sometimes our bodies just don’t like to cooperate. I’m rooting for you! :)

grabthebull. Hey! NC is good. I got caught up in changing sizes and season in clothes, sorting out an moving things in storage, getting settled where I am. Also, less time on the computer. But, good. I’m very pleased with the steady losses and hoping to get right back to it. No excuses now, right? =) Delita
