Funny, I almost mis-typed that title as “I’ve Learned to be Satisfied with Success.” But that is not it. I really have “learned to be satisfied with progress.”
My DDIL was sharing her own progress the other day and then followed it up with a comment about “but…” and shared how she hadn’t reached her goal yet. What came out of my mouth was the insight above.
I’ve learned to be satisfied with progress.
It was one of those *wow* moments when I was not sure where *that* came from. Did I say that?
And, I think it is true for me now. But it didn’t used to be true. I used to want to lose 80 pounds by July, or January. If I didn’t stay on track and reach goal by my unrealistic deadline I felt like I wasn’t doing anything.
Every setback threw me off track.
Now, with a little gray hair I’m seeing things differently. Every step is a step, even if I’m *not there yet.* A step off the track doesn’t set me back to the beginning. I’ve still got the progress I’ve made, or, at least the things that I’ve learned.
Wow. I’m not there yet, but I’ve learned to be satisfied with progress and that helps keep me motivated to get back on. After all, I’m not there yet! LOL
Where are you in your journey?
