The Secret to Success!

Posted by: delitaagain In: Lessons Learned

“ate better, started exercising again, touched base with my friend…”

This comment by our Patty (Sistah Pat) seems to me to be our secret to success here.

We all have differences and try various things over time, but what it boils down to is improving our eating, finding ways to incorporate exercise, and, making time to hook up with friends doing similar things for the encouragement and accountability that will keep us going even when motivation fades and commitment is hard to find.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of you dear sisters (and guys!) who brave the airwaves to find like souls to learn from and share hope with.

Because of you, I’m still here.  I haven’t mastered this yet, but, I’m still going, and VERY GRATEFUL! Thank you!!

What are you grateful for today?

Congratulations on your success! At the moment, what I am most grateful for is sudafed and hot tea. Yes, a head cold. No, not the end of the world, but still. I am feeling a bit whiny.

On a normal day, normal meaning I can breathe through my nose, I am grateful for a body that (albeit out of shape) is healthy enough to run and exercise, a budget that (albeit taking hits in the recession) can afford me the luxury of fresh and healthy foods and a family that (albeit loves junk food and laying around in pajamas on a 3-day weekend) supports my efforts and celebrates my successes with me and a network of friends (even though they are “virtual” friends) to champion my efforts.

Life is good : ) even with a sucky-ass cold.

Congrats on the loss!

Yeah, those secrets that really are no secret. Eating well and exercise is what it takes! There are no short cuts that lead to long-term weight loss and HEALTH!

I’m extremely grateful that my barium enema is over! LOL

You (and Sistah Pat) are absolutely right. I often say the “secret” is simply to eat less and move more. But i’ve known that for years, and it wasn’t until i starting “touching base” with all of the 3FC people that i have had it in me to stay motivated.
So, I would like to second your appreciation for all of the other chickies around here who give me reasons to keep on clucking!

Congrats on your loss! Keep up the good work.

Today, I am grateful for time alone with my hubby and for the beautiful snow that God sent just for me! :)

MamaBearJune - I so agree. The *secret* isn’t a secret. We just resist it, even to the tune of supporting a diet industry and a fitness industry into the multi-billions. Seems like we would rather try odd stuff and pay for it than do what is necessary and really lose the weight. Thanks for stopping by! Delita

billie, I so agree. I find just having this blog and the virtual *friends* cheering me on and encouraging me with their own adventures keeps me honest and coming back even when eating right and exercising aren’t happening for me. I’m so thinking this time is it for me, and that *the secret* is all I need. Thanks for your encouragement! Delita

roni, thanks for dropping by. That is the main thing that keeps me at it - I know I need the health and fitness to have the life I want. We’re doing it! Delita
