Weigh-in: Week 18 and a NEW MILESTONE!

Posted by: delitaagain In: Weigh-In!!

I really hadn’t expected it this week, in fact, I deserved to gain. I’ve been really slack on eating the right things while eating candy (3 days) drinking hot chocolate (3 days) and eating a lot of fatty meats (my DDIL went back on Atkins), and really skimping on green veggies.

But now. Ho ho ho! Down .4 pounds this week, for a three week average of a 2 pound loss per week. Yippee! I’m still going. And the scale really did say under 248. =D I haven’t done this well on a three week average since getting past week 3.

Now I’m all excited about continuing to pump this up, and I really want to do over 2 pounds this week. So, that’s my new short term goal. And, to get back to exercising. I started CrossFit on Christmas Eve last year and thought it would be fitting to get back to it on Christmas Eve this year! I haven’t been consistent but still I am so far ahead of where I was.

Now I have over 100 things on my to do list for today and tomorrow so I better get back to it. I hope to do some upgrades on my blog over the holidays - but for now - just VERY GRATEFUL TO STILL BE HERE AND STILL BE GOING. 248.8! I’ll take it!

What is inspiring you to hang on/not give up through these holidays?

congrats on your weight loss! What a great accomplishment in December of all times!

My inspiration is that in January, a dream I have had for a while is coming true. My mom, my sister and I are going on a cruise together. I don’t want ANYTHING to take away from having the best time possible. I went on one dream vacation being ashamed of my weight and letting it hold me back…NOT THIS TIME!!!

Other than that, I look back and see my progress in 2008 and I am really excited to see what I can do in ‘09.

Ah, thanks! What a great plan! Enjoy your cruise! So glad to hear you are enjoying your weight loss. I’m thinking that is maybe a big key for me. As long as I can keep remembering my good progress, how far I’ve come and how grateful I am to be down where I am, it is easier to maintain it and to have a dream for the future. Great to see you! Hi Delita - Another good one for you! I had a wake-up call almost 2 weeks ago when my evening blood sugar was over 400! I’m back to watching the glycemic index of the foods I eat, was really slacking off for about 2 or more months. Since my weight had stayed at the loss, I figured things were okay, even though my morning blood sugars were just under 200, NO GOOD, but I continued not watching or even caring. I’m doing a lot better with the blood sugars, still not where I want them to be, but I’m working on it! I don’t ever want to feel that PANIC feeling with a high reading again. Just want to wish you a Happy Holiday, and will be talking to you soon. Maybe I’ll even post to my blog after the New Year! take care ~~~ Sandi

Way to go!!! Crossing those milestones provides such great motivation!

The thing getting me through the holidays is my love for exercise. It’s looking like I’m still going to gain some weight, but I know it’s not as bad as it could have been if I wasn’t working out so much. I’m still fitting into the same size clothes, though, so I’m hoping it’s weight that will come off fairly quickly.

brseay, exercise is good. My weight that goes on quickly seems to come off quickly if I get right back on it and don’t let it hang around. Great new about the same size! Happy Christmas to you and yours! Delita

Congrats on a loss when you expected a gain. That’s always inspiring. For me, what inspires me to hang on/not give up during this holiday is having broke my cycle of gain one week, lose the next. I finally lost weight three weeks in a row, and am now at 25 lbs lost for the 12 weeks I have been doing this. :)

I hope you got your 100 things done. I cannot believe it but for the first time ever, I have everything bought and wrapped a day ahead of time! Now we just have to break out all the Christmas Eve- after- kids- go to bed stuff, like the train, the snowsledders, all the gifts arranged under the tree, the stockings stuffed, the whole kit n caboodle. But I am just glad I don’t have to stay up til 2am wrapping presents! Could I actually go to bed at a reasonable time on Christmas Eve?

Diet, exercise and my new healthier lifestyle has so many little perks.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Thanks, inkheartmeg, and WoW! Look at you! 25 pounds for 12 weeks is serious business. Yep, I got on the scale this morning and was up a couple pounds. I just did that thinking I wanted the reminder to watch my eating these days and not make exceptions for this and that and that… LOL I haven’t finished the 100+ (and, it grows! lol) but have made great progress. I’m so impressed with you being ahead of the curve on gifts and wrapping. You are right, doing things right has some wonderful perks. You’ve inspired me to get busy today and get there myself. Have a great Christmas! Delita
