I’m Leaving… *On a Jet Plane!* =D

Posted by: delitaagain In: Updates

Do know when I plan to be back again: Tuesday, October 28. Heading for the Ozark Mountains and Branson, Missouri.

I’m flying out Wednesday morning and have no idea how I will handle it. I may not even try to eat on program, just make good choices for where I am. I’m thinking I would like to avoid wheat, though. Wheat is a huge trigger, and soft drinks other than Sprite, Sierra Mist or Ginger Ale all get me *back on* all kinds of foods I’m usually not tempted to eat. We’ll see…

I’m also planning to workout and hike a little. I’m going to a prayer conference where days are pretty much 6AM to midnight with not much down time. It is work, but great!

I’ll try to post an update while away if I can. Today was very hectic and I haven’t even begun to pack. Ya’ll have fun!

This is what I did to deal with the insane cravings I have.

First week - gave up pop
Third week- gave up bread
Fifth week- gave up sweets
Seventh week- gave up White Flour

Each week that I gave up something I would give myself two weeks to decide what I would give up next. A voice would start going off in my head telling me what triggers I already knew I had.
Once I gave up the four major triggers, the weight started coming off and I know longer had the insane cravings that were with me 24/7

I don’t think I will ever safely be able to go back to pop, bread, sweets or white flour but I would rather do that than have those cravings and depressions that resulted from not being able to stay on track. Yes, there was a price to pay but I am willing to pay it! Good luck to you and I hope it works out well for you.

gonnabe - I highly recommend Branson - it is so clean-cut, relaxed, family freindly, just plain nice folks and lots to do. I’m usually to booked up to get out much but I can really recommend it as a vacation spot and the rates are usually great. Delita

Thank you! It wasn’t so bad - I just tried to eat all the lean meat and veggies plus fruit that I could get my hands on each time we had a meal! My friends were very cooperative and didn’t select any places where I would have no good choices. Thanks! Delita

Hey, Patty! Thanks! You’re right - the plan did work. It’s called “do the best you can plan.” LOL Branson is great. I heartily recommend it for any people who enjoy family type fun. And it has everything! All very reasonable. Delita

Hiya, Toots! Great comment! Do you have a blog? I, too, found that if I avoid my trigger foods I don’t have cravings. And if I eat enough *good* foods, I don’t start wondering what else I can eat. LOL - thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon! Delita
