Weigh-in: Week 8 and Back At It!

Posted by: delitaagain In: Weigh-In!!

Forgot to post about my weigh-in this week. Down 2.8 pounds for the week. All lost in the last 3 days, after I decided to increase calories again. Total lost from top weight: 37.2 pounds. Total lost since beginning this diet blog 8 weeks ago: 18.4 pounds. That’s an average of 2.3 pounds per week.

Maybe a *last three weeks* average would be more useful: 1.8 pounds. Not quite as high, but a probably a better indicator of the trend I’m on currently.

Please note that I’m doing this by eating a LOT of good foods, not by the starvation (low calorie) method. I really believe that if I was doing it by portion or calorie control, it would bounce right back on with more as soon as I quit holding my mouth right! LOL

Of course, I’m also exercising, but just enough to get my body to work right, not enough to burn off this kind of pounds. In fact, I only worked out 3 days this week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday). And today was the last of four rest days in a row. I’ll start back working out four days a week tomorrow.

I’m very pleased, as you can imagine. And very grateful. I feel great. I just had dinner: ground turkey breast (huge) mixed with olive oil, chopped onions and herbs, green beans mixed with stone ground mustard (my favorite), a California avocado and about 1.5 cups of fresh strawberries. Yum. Not only was it good, but I feel *fabulous* right now. I’m definitely going to log this as a meal to repeat.

If you’ve read this far, please take the time to share your favorite *win* this week. Thanks!

I am intrigued about the green beans and mustard. How do you prepare it?

My win? I was down a pound, but I’m sure after the past two days, I’m back up.

Sandi - thanks so much! So what are you up to these days? Still on the same plan or looking elsewhere? How’s it going? Delita

neverperfect - thanks! I can feel myself starting to make the adjustment to *long haul* and I sure don’t need the alternative! LOL

eryn - all I do is mix a little stoneground mustard in with my lightly steamed green beans. Just enough to perk up the taste. I buy fresh green beans, trim the ends, chop, lightly steam, then mix in a little stone ground mustard (can be hard to find) or even a little salad dressing (like caesar light). Just enough that they are not boring. I *love* the mustard, and it is pretty much zero calories! I get mine at whole foods. Delita

Mel! You made it! Thanks! Let’s not lose touch for sure. I’m still not very far into Paleo but still think it is a better direction for me than FBD. How are you doing?

Congratulations! And thanks for your comment on my post about street dance :) I have to say it’s the most high intensity class I’ve ever done, but there are a lot more simple ones. If you enjoy dancing I’d definitely look into it, it’s really interesting choreography and properly works you out!

Congrats on the losses! I usually find that a 5 or 9-week average is a better one to look at. It gives me a feel for how I’m doing overall and any changes due to my monthly cycle are smoothed out.
