Lesson Learned: Transitions are Never Smooth
Posted by: delitaagain In: Lessons Learned
Here’s a quote that has helped me a lot:
Transitions are never smooth.
Every time I remember that I think about all the times my family took a small boat between two islands, heading out into the gulf stream. In that place of transition, between the inter-coastal (barrier island protected) waterway and the open ocean, currents ran together around of those two islands and basically *crossed* each other in that narrow opening, making for choppy water! But once you cleared the transition place and got out into open water, seas smoothed out again.
Like my life - I’m in transition between doing the strict Flat Belly Diet and making dieting a lifestyle that I can keep up long term, until I reach my goal, and then maintain for the rest of my life. It helps a lot to know that this place I’m in is not smooth sailing *because* I’m in transition. If I keep moving forward, I will hit open seas again, and smooth sailing. See?
