Food Mini-goal #3: Complete 21 days on Flat Belly Diet

Posted by: delitaagain In: Goals

From this point I will separate Food and Fitness mini-goals as they may not be on the same schedule.

This mini-goal is simple: complete 21 days on the Flat Belly Diet, starting 9/11/2008, the day after my last mini-goal ended, and ending 10/1/2008, the first day in October. This will be 53 days on the Flat Belly Diet and after that I plan to do monthly goals.

I have two things I want to focus on during this 3 week period.

  • Increase calories to 2000 per day ( +/- 100), aiming for 1200 in the first two meals and 800 in the second two meals.
  • Eliminate dairy completely for 7 days to see if this stops the *sensitivity* symptoms I’m still showing. If it does, then I will try adding back just yogurt.

Thanks for your kind words about my 5K today!

I have the hardest time meeting goals & now I’m thinking you may be right about goal setting…weight goals tend to bring me down, but working on the 5K goal worked for me & I was able to see results. Maybe I need to focus on something besides weight for a while.

Hi Delita - I switched to lactose free fat free milk and surprisingly no more stomach aches! I did this with the jumpstart FBD. I actually like the taste too.
Progress on the low-glycemic program I’m following, another lost pound, bringing my total for the first week at 3 pounds lost.
I’m not keen on yogurt, but this week I tried Stonyfield’s Vanilla which I added some fruit, and it was pretty good!
I’ve had 2 yucky recipes from my program that ended up in the garbage. I’m going to adjust some of them that will work for me taste wise.
take care ~~~ Sandi

Rach, thanks so much! Where I am today is a sum of all the things I’ve learned on all the diets (and failures) over the years. But I am happier and healthier than ever and now feel I have enough info to do this and do it right. And you are doing great! As we listen, learn and work through, we get to where we can do. Delita

Bigprof - you are welcome. And I am so in awe of what you did. I started reading a book today about starting running. I soooo want it! Thanks for your comment! Delita

Sandi, I don’t have any discomfort from milk but other symptoms of sensitivity and lactose free works better for me, too. This week I am trying no dairy to see if that is what is up with no more waist inch loss. Foods I’m sensitive to cause abdominal swelling and I seem to still be eating something that is doing that so dairy is my first experiment. I’m already off wheat. Congrats to you on your 3! By the way, I eat only Stonyfield yogurt normally. No bad stuff, only good taste. Thanks for the update. I’m still working on recipes, too, and still on menus. Delita
