Weigh In: Week 4 - Still on Program!

Posted by: delitaagain In: Weigh-In!!

Weigh in day and my weight went up .6 pounds to 270. 8.

My Weight Chart:
Weight Chart

That means I am 28 days into this 32 program with a posted weight GAIN of 1 pound for the last two weeks. Total weight LOSS in 4 weeks: 10.4 pounds.

This is NOT discouraging, but I will admit it is not quite the fun and exciting time I had planned. ;-)

This is *not* discouraging because I know my body AND refuse to get discouraged. ;-)

I have been about 99% on program over the 28 days. I can count the times I’ve gone off on one hand, and none of them were major. Take yesterday, for example.

11 hours of driving, 7 hours of wedding. *Off program* was a gas station Cappuccino for the comfort and caffeine of driving until 3:00 AM. That does not wreck a full day of eating on program! lol

However, caffeine, and too little water yesterday, and too little sleep (7 hours in 2 days) all contribute to water retention. With a little saner lifestyle I would probably be down that pound, and maybe more, just on water weight.

The numbers are not the problem. In fact, I am not convinced there is a problem.

I just completed 28 days of a 32 day program, staying 99% on program, getting back into exercising, and, ENJOYED IT!! I just need to get some sleep!! lol This is a success.

According to calculators I am currently burning 1,000 calories a day more than I am taking in. C*E*L*E*B*R*A*T*E !!! Actually, that is too much.

Once I complete this program (in 4 days), I intend to raise my daily calories to 2,000 based on the exercise I’m now doing and my body tends to refuse to lose weight unless I am taking in enough calories.

I’ve learned to focus on the behaviors I need to accomplish, not the the numbers dancing like a mirage between here and the horizon.

Ultimately, my great accomplishment will not be getting down to target weight but doing all the changes and work and consistancy over time that will accomplish my target weight.

I REFUSE to be discouraged. I am very encouraged that I jumped into this and have been doing GREAT for - count ‘em - 28 whole days!!!!!

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for being here! I really think that without the support of you commentors I wouldn’t stay focused and *pumped* to do this. Thanks for dropping by. And please comment. ;-)

I don’t know if I said this before, but I’d be happy with losing a pound a week. You lost 10+ pounds in 4 weeks, that’s awesome!
A friend of mine is trying to lose weight (20 pounds at the most), and no matter how she changes her eating, she can’t seem to lose. She exercises a lot and still no help. Two weeks ago she joined a gym and had a personal trainer. She gained 6 pounds!
I’m thinking it’s muscle weight, it can’t be fat! She is so discouraged. I told her to keep a journal of everything that goes in her mouth!
Anyway, back to Delita, keep up the good work.
take care ~~~ Sandi

Sandi, thanks for the encouragement. You are right that 10 pounds is a significant loss. And, I’m wearing smaller clothes (a little) and feeling MUCH better - can’t stress that enough - and doing more. LOVING this! I do want to unock the key to weight loss as well, and expect to do that by staying on program, increasing the calories and continuing to exercise. This is so much fun. It is not uncommon to not be able to lose until you eat more. Maybe your friend is one of us in that. Thanks for the note! Delita

Okay, apparently I was sadly mistaken. This was more discouraging than I wanted it to be. But, we are moving forward and not focusing on that. Delita
