Getting a Handle on This Bucking Horse

Posted by: delitaagain In: Planning

I know, mixed metaphor. But sometimes this is what it feels like.

There are a lot of things I like about the Flat Belly Diet and some that challenge me. For example, it is great that the online website will choose wheat-free (or other option) menus for me, make shopping lists, let me log food. It is challenging that all this is online and I don’t have internet access at home.

This week, I never did get my menus planned for the week, so  I shopped without a list and did *pretty* well, but never did get my menus made and found it *challenging* to stay on program.

Last night I stayed on the computer and planned menus for today and tomorrow (yea!). After fixing and eating dinner, making Sassy water, fixing today’s breakfast, lunch and snack (whew!), I got out my Flat Belly Diet book and starting writing menus on neon color coded index cards.

Orange is breakfast, pink is lunch, yellow is snack and green is dinner. I’m thinking if I get enough of these, I can just pull out seven breakfasts, seven lunches, seven snacks and seven dinners. Cards show the total calories for the meal, not all nutrition data.

I’ll still need to log my food as I am famous for making substitutions, but having a plan really helps, makes things less… challenging.

Other than that, doing great. My skirt yesterday had slipped down to my waist by the end of the day. I’ve been wearing it *up and over* my belly (when I could wear it) for a couple years now. Could this be a sign of impending waistline measurement shrinkage??

Stay tuned… LOL

I would say that the relocation of your skirt definitely shows that your waist is getting smaller. Way to go!

Thanks for my comment. I log my calories at http://www.myfooddiary.com. It costs $9+ a month, but that is worth it to me. I REALLY like the site, it tells you what you are doing right and wrong so that you can do better. I definitely think it is worth the money!

I’m gonna add you to my blogroll.

I defintely think that you must have some belly shrinkage. I am going to check out the flat belly diet. Hang in there! Keep your eyes on the prize!

What a great idea with the index cards. I may just steal that from you. Right now I have printed out meals that I have eaten and keep thumbing through them to make sure I have all of the elements that I need. Color coded index cards would be much easier. Keep up the good work!

I like this color coded index card idea too! I started printing out my meal plan from the program I’m starting. Then I’m cutting them and taping them to the colored index cards. This is good, all my ingredients are listed and how to prepare them. How easy is this! Just like a recipe card!
The shopping list for the week is just as easy to get ready. You can remove the items that you already have at home, and add what you need, just with the click of the mouse, then print it out. Hooray, no more handwriting my list.
