Viva la Vivanno - Thanks Starbucks!

Posted by: delitaagain In: Menus

I’m not a real Starbucks person, but not averse to a special coffee now and then either, and when they put Starbucks in Barnes & Nobles… Well, I usually justify my reading and drinking habit with good-for-me green tea. This is one of my favorite getaways.

NOW! Let me be the first to tell you! Starbucks has come out with what is basically a protein shake. And, it’s not bad! In fact, it’s quite good. It comes in two flavors and might actually even be good for you.

I checked out the nutrition info the other day and decided it would make a good snack meal, a la Flat Belly Diet, but I might add a MUFA since I’m not sure it has enough chocolate to qualify. It would need a few more calories, too. Can you believe this?? ADD calories??

Yesterday I had the duly scheduled banana chocolate Vivanno experiment and 2 T. almonds on the side. Today I logged it, and the meal total was:

CALORIES 379, CARBS 47, FAT 15, PROTEIN 25, FIBER 8
1 Serving(s) Starbucks Banana Chocolate Vivanno: 270-44-5-21-6
2 tbsp Nuts, almonds: 109-3-10-4-2

The ingredients are: a whole banana blended with all natural Naked® Juice made exclusively for Starbucks, their proprietary whey protein & fiber powder, 2% milk and ice. Apparently you can ask them to add green tea, maybe instead of the milk? Wow.

That’s actually a pretty good-for-me meal. And no prior preparation required, except bring your own almonds and show up at the local Starbucks. I can do this. Think I should tell Prevention magazine?? ;->

Sounds good to me! I’m going to have to try it. I love the Chai tea at Panera but it is LOADED with calories. Thanks for letting us know!

Thanks, Patty. I really appreciate you leaving comments when you stop by, so I know you’ ve been here. ;-)

I found out the green tea they add is high in sugar so I’ll be passsing on that. I am working tea into my days now, especially the green.

I like skinny vanilla latte from SB and I did see Viva la Vivanno from there last time I went there but wasn’t really sure if I really wanted to try it. Thanks for letting us know! I sure would try it next time I go there. :D
