Who is Choosing Your Defining Moments?

Posted by: delitaagain In: Lessons Learned| Motivation

I just read a blog post on Confessions of a Bulk Eater about an article on MSN linking early ear infection to obesity in adults. She makes the joke that she is *not* going to go out and eat pizza over this news.

We all know how that works! LOL And, we have probably all done it, at one time or another.

Of course this is not just about blowing a diet. We’ve all had obstacles in our lives.

How long did it take me to figure out it is not the difficulties but those things I decide to do about the difficulties that become my defining moment.

I didn’t die from any of the things that were supposed to kill me or live tragically the way doctors said I would. And I don’t have to be overweight for the rest of my life no matter how many prior indicators of conditions or events seem to dictate it.

I’m very glad today that my choices make my defining moments and not the things that happen to me.

Thanks. I needed that.

Thanks, Delita, for the kind comments! I lost you for a while there but I added you to my blog roll this time so I won’t lose you again. Hope you don’t mind.

Sounds like you’re well on your way to finding what works for you. I guess we all have to find the right path. I’ve decided that I’m never going on a diet again. This is how I live now. I try to eat healthy, count calories, and exercise. Because it’s not a diet, I don’t ever feel like I’m cheating. I’m not setting goals to try to lose a certain amount of weight by a certain time. I just do the best I can everyday and, if I have an off day, I just get back to it the next day. I feel sooo much better these days!

Look at all the milestones you’ve reached! wow! I’m impressed!
