I got a decent work out this morning. It definitely could have been better but at least I made it out of bed. I’ve talked a friend into going with me so at least I have a little accountability. April 1st is coming up. Which is the day my evil trainer and I agreed we would do our first weigh in and re-measuring. We haven’t done it since we started this past november. He didnt want me to get obsessed about the numbers. I’m a little nervous, so i’m trying to step everything up a level this last week or so. Its hard to step it up when you are stuck on a treadmill though. I felt like a hamster!! I’m retiring from treadmill. I’ll find a new source of cardio torture.

I’ve eaten breakfast (an orange an d1/2 and english muffin) and now i’m supposed to be getting ready for work. I’ve packed my lunch (weight watchers soup) and hopefully that’s all I eat between now and dinner!

A friend of mine is also trying to lose weight. (who isnt?). We’re both pretty stuck so we came up with a little competition. We weighed ourselves friday. Whoever loses the most weight by april 1st wins. the loser buys the other a pedicure!!! We’re only expecting to drop 2 or 3 pounds but at least its a little motivation

Today was great. I had lunch with an old friend who helped me get a ton of wedding planning done!! I needed the help. Unfortunately there is about 9 inches of snow on the ground that I could live without.

 

The things i’m supposed to remember March 20, 2010

Now is as good a time as any to introduce Eric. He is not my fiance (his name is andy). Equally as important. He is my personal trainer and he is golden. I hired him november first. We meet twice a week for an hour each time at 5a.m. Gross. But he is very good at what he does. I’m sure you will see a lot of posts to come that begin with , “Eric says….” So I thought I would just introduce him and be done with that.

His tips for today; dont just write down what you are eating. keep an actual food journal. Write where you were when you were eating. What kind of mood you were in etc. I did this for a month or so and found that often I was eating because it was ‘time to eat’ and not because I was hungry!
His exercise tip is to find one thing you feel results from (pushups, crunches, squats…) and do a set first thing in the morning. Nothing better than starting the morning at a high point.

I am absolutely done cringing at the sight of myself naked in the mirror. I am even more done with all the other struggles that come with being overweight.  But I need some accountability. I’ll post my journey here complete with the stumbling blocks and tips/tricks I learn along the way! It should be a fun ride!
