Why not go to a nutrition/exercise counselor/life coach type person?

When I needed some more info/help with DS, I told him that I AM Amazing, and indeed, very brilliant, educated, and a super dedicated parent...lol...but I didn't know everything and that we needed someone trained in the field in which we needed some advice/knowledge/info etc. We weren't "broken", just not so informed about how to make some changes in a particular "life area". The approach worked for us. He agreed and during the past 90 days we have seen improvement. We hit it hard and went 2x a week for 6 weeks and then backed off to 1x a week and now he is going every other week. Might be worth a try. We had just reached a stopping point/brick wall, and it jump started our efforts. I'm very glad we went. We did change counselors after 2 weeks and the 2nd one was a nice personality fit with DS. Nothing wrong with the first counselor--just didn't mesh w/ DS's personality and with counseling, that was of course important (say, versus my ob/gyn...I don't particularly care for his personality, but he is a great doc).

if anything (as you mentioned) you need to do this for your daughter. she's already picking up bad habits from you. as you know, it'll only get harder to lose weight once you've gained so much. make today your starting point. good luck.

I like the new mantra! lol

I don't set timed weight goals for myself....EVER...because life happens and well, I just don't want to get discouraged and feel like I have failed once again, when i don't meet that goal. We know the body is a mysterious thing...and will do what it wants to do in its own time....

ya, the pizza probably just made you MORE tired...but I get the whole food for energy thing...brings me right back to the years I used to work the night shift. Its a hard habit and mindset to break. One day at a time, my friend. One day at a time.

could you put in for some management position? I couldn't imagine taking call forever either.

Hey there, take a breath.

It's just one pound, no big deal, right?

I have some foods that puff me up too - and last year I started to cut way back on all carbohydrates & I found to my surprise that it wasn't hard at all - I liked the foods I ate more of, and I LOVED that hunger went away. I still eat fairly low carb pretty much all the time and it's been a big shift for me.

I don't think you have a personality disorder - getting weight under control is wickedly hard, and I don't know why that is not BROADCAST everywhere.

Hang in there - there are a lot of us who feel like you do sometimes. I found some things that work better for me, and so will you - and on days you don't, do what you did here -- VENT!
