clothes, clothes, clothes

I’m heading to Chicago for homecoming weekend.  Can’t wait to see my friends again and have a great time at my alma mater.  Last weekend I went shopping for some new jeans.  I bought jeans a size down and also fit into some pants in the regular sizes.  Also bought a cute knit dress and some leggings.

So far this week, three different people have called me “skinny”.  I know I am far from it, but I feel so much better about how I look.  I fit into some pants I haven’t worn in ages, not since the last time I was under 200.  They are DKNY and I bought them in the “normal sizes.”  That’s such a huge motivational factor.  You go from having a small corner in the back of the store with limited selection, to the entire mall.  It’s dangerous!

Below is a not so great before and after.  I’ll be updating the after with a new photo of me in this outfit after I go out this weekend for Halloween.  I found out yesterday that I needed a costume for some fun parties I’ll be going to in Chicago this weekend.  I have performed at Ren Faires for many years and have a lovely back lacing corset.  Decided to be a pirate, since all I would need is a hat.  The picture on the left is from the Celtic Christmas concert I did with my band last December.  The picture on the right is me in my Halloween costume.  Same corset and shirt.  Same person, minus 21 lbs.  It’s a little hard to see, and I didn’t even have the corset tightened nearly all the way.

Back in the game

celticharpie on Oct 20th 2012 12:05 pm

Well, after a week off running and my diet due to travel for work, and another week suffering from food poisoning, I’m back in the game. Just got in from my W9D1 of C25K.  I ran for 30 minutes without stopping. Was I fast? No. In fact a lady with a jogging stroller passed me at one point.  But that doesn’t matter. I don’t care how I look out there. I’m doing this for myself.

In scale victory news, I’m down 20 lbs as of today!

ugh

I go away for one weekend and don’t stick to plan.  When I come back, I run 3 days in a row.  Weigh in after 10 days (I’ve switched weigh ins to Fridays) and I was only down .2.  Ugh.

I won the competition

celticharpie on Oct 3rd 2012 02:45 pm

So I won the weight loss competition.  Got $140 in cash and a yellow smiley face balloon.  This week has been my first non-competitive week and I slipped a bit.  I’m up about .4 lbs since last week.  Most of this is attributed to driving to Chicago and back (20 hours of driving between Friday and Sunday) for the Northwestern football game.  Oh, and the tailgating.  And the meals out.  You know the drill.

I have also decided to start doing my weigh ins on Friday mornings.  This has worked better for me in the past due to the fact that the times that I stray (we all do) are always on the weekends.  I’m very good and on plan during the week!  So I will weigh in this Friday.  I predict a loss ;)

I ran this morning, and will do so again tomorrow, despite not running in the past week.  That was a bad move, but I’m solving the problem.  I’m still on target.  If I work hard, keep on plan, and run every day or most days, I can still meet my ONEderland by the end of October goal.
