keep on track

I had a fabulous trip to Chicago last weekend.  Got to see my friends from college and go to a football game at my alma mater.  We won, in a downpour of rain, but it was so much fun!  I also ate out for lunch that day and spent 3 hours at a tailgate.  Yep.  Bratwurst (I had 1/2 of one), beer (2 of those), and chips and guacamole (my personal kryptonite).  When I got on the scale Sunday night, I was up 1.4 lbs.  It wasn’t unexpected, but I was worried I couldn’t make enough progress by today– weigh in day.

So, I did my C25K Week 5 Day 3 run (20 minutes uninterrupted) on Monday, and then added a 45 minute (2.5 mile) power walk on Tuesday.  Today was my first day of Week 6.  I stepped on the scale and WHAMMO!  I’m down 1.4 lbs.

During class yesterday we did an exercise about functions of the brain.  We all had candy bars with various statements taped to the back of each. Then we had to pass them to the correct “part” of the brain.  After we reviewed them all, the professor passed the candy around for us to eat.  I said, “no thanks.”  It was a challenge, but I did it.

Total weight loss so far:  12.0 lbs
