General September 20th, 2009It’s been awhile since I’ve been here but that is okay. I’ve been keeping a hand written journal which seems to fit my phase right now. I’ve been exercising and eating the best I can. I’ m not sure how many calories per day I’m consuming. My goal is to exercise for 150 minutes each week. I’m also wearing a pedometer. I’d like to hit the 10,000 steps per day but if I get 5,000 I’ll be happy. I’m not sure if I have the stride set correctly.
I made a trip to the doctor Friday. My hip was beginning to bother me again. He gave me an injection of cortisone which made me hyper for a couple of days. My hip is still a little sore. He told me their was imflamation but didn’t tell me if it was bursitis or arthritis. No way of knowing with out an xray but with me having osteoporsis it could have been either one but it was extremely sore when he examined it.

Oh goodness–Cortisone! I once had a position as a vocational counsel and had a cute little list of clients to provide services for. I’ll never forget one client who needed a cortisone shot. He’d asked that I go with him and go into the office with him also and he squeezed my hand for comfort. Here he was this large strong man who needed support in self-care. He felt much relief from the shot–so that’s a blessing. I didn’t know that the side effects could be being hyper.
I wore a pedometer for a while too. I only walked around 5000 steps a day.
