All the Scales Disagree!

Well, the scale at the weight loss center only showed a difference of 6.6 lbs since 31 Dec. I guess maybe Mom’s scale weighs high and mine weighs a little low - otherwise I don’t know how I could end up with an 11.2 lb loss on mom’s scale and mine, but only 6.6 lbs at the weight loss center. I was really hoping for 7 to 8 lbs for the first week, so I’m a little bummed that I missed that. Most people on this program lose 13 to 20 lbs the first week. Knowing how hard it is for me to lose weight, I knew that a double-digit loss was not going to happen but I guess I was still too optimistic with my lower goal. I probably should revise my 3 lb goal I had in mind for next week.
Another bummer (for me) - Mom needs to lost about 25 lbs (as opposed to my 125 lbs). She “cut back” to about 1700 calories a day this week and lost over 7 lbs. I busted my butt on 500 calories a day and lost less. Does that seem right to you? Anyhoo, way to go, Mom! And I really am happy for her, despite my griping about the total unfairness : )
It sure would have been easier to stick with it next week if I could have lost another 4/10 of a pound. But that’s just a stupid psychological thing. Have to get over it and move on.
