Ho Hum

I guess it would be really wrong of me to complain about how slowwwwww work was today.  It was nice to get to see the sun on the way home (as opposed to the 3 am moon) but the work load was so much lower than what I’ve gotten used to that it really seemed like a long day.  I’m taking tomorrow off to recover!

Actually, I’m taking the day off because my new furniture is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.  I really hope it fits.  My living room is pretty large (16′ X 20′) but it also has 6 doors and a fireplace!  Even when we declare one set of doors a “window”, it is still a little difficult to arrange the furniture in a way that makes sense and leaves room to walk.

Finished big project at work (I think, keeping fingers crossed).  And look at that — I have a new recorded high to start from (again!).  I say recorded because I am pretty sure I got up to at least 269 at one time but I haven’t found where I wrote that down anywhere.  The new recorded high was 264.5 on 5 Oct.

Rarely Here…

Big project at work - seems like all of my time for the past month has been spent at work or sleeping.  Food provided at work but NOT healthy food!  I’ve got to get more exercise in…

It’s certainly not less!  : )

All right, enough already.  I live in Texas for crying out loud, not frickin’ Seattle (not that there’s anything wrong with Seattle, lovely to visit would not want to live there).  We have had not one bit of sun here for almost two whole weeks!  I’m not complaining about the rain but I am so sick of the gray gloomy days.  Let’s see the sun for a minute this spring (we’ll see plenty of it this summer!).

This is my goal picture (and that’s actually my skinny butt in the picture - funny, I didn’t think it was skinny at the time!)

I’ve had two pathetic days in a row and it’s time to get over it, gray skies or not.  I like my job (and am really glad to have it) but the bureaucratic BS makes it SO BORING!!!  And BORING is the absolute death of my resolve to stick with healthy habits.  That’s why I almost always do way better on weekends than I do during the week.

I am enjoying the W8 Challenge - it at least makes me think about what I am doing because I absolutely hate to lose (competitions that is - if I could lose a pound or two, woohoo!!).

Plateau Much?

So, thanks to Norton AV, I didn’t get to do the April challenge but I am going to do the May challenge.  I’m going to start working on signing up now so maybe it will be set up in time.
Been pretty much stuck on 249.5 all month although the endocrinologist’s scale had me at 248 when I went for my appointment.  The good news is that since her scale weighed me heavier than I was the appointment previous to that, I had only gained two pounds according to her records.  The bad news is, who know what that #@%#% scale will say next time.  Liar!!
Today’s activities:
  • Bike ride, 1 hr 15 minutes
  • Bike ride with Dog, 20 minutes
  • Pulling weeds, spreading mulch, 2 hours

Eating:  Good

Vacation’s Over

Tomorrow is the start of the April challenge and the day I told myself a few weeks ago that I would get serious about diet/exercise again.  I’ve been trying on the diet but I decided to give myself a few weeks guilt-free to get things done around the house and in the yard.  I’ve gotten enough stuff done that most people could consider my activity level to be pretty well exercising but incidental exercise has never been very effective for me.  In a way, I am very excited about getting back to no-kidding exercise because I have noticed that for the first time in my life, I’m in such bad physical shape that my muscles hurt after doing really simple things like taking pictures of our calves (baby cows - not the leg muscles!) and planting flowers.  Not good!
Plus, I’ve got to lose the weight I’ve GAINED in the last week plus at least 1-2 more pounds in the next few weeks.  I so DO NOT want to go back to the endocrinologist having gained fricking weight.
Today’s activities:
  • Planted flowers, weeded flower beds, 1.5 hours

Eating:  Not too good

Mostly, I was phlegmish and then I got distracted.  Not good!  I was stuck on 246 for two weeks straight, even though I was putting together several days of good eating/exercising and several days of not so good eating/doing nothing.  It really seems like one of those should make a difference on the scale.  So annoying.  It’s hard to keep doing well without seeing good results but it is also hard to break bad habits when poor performance doesn’t have immediate bad effects.  I finally told myself about a week ago that I had until 1 April to get things done in the yard, etc. instead of going to the gym and I did finally get a lot of things done.  Now, it’s back to diet/exercise work.  I’m going to try to do the gym/cardio thing four days a week and work in the yard the other three.
I’m also joining the Weight Challenge for April - maybe a little competition will give me a kick in my considerable ass!
Today’s activities:
  • Washed all of the window screens
  • Washed the outside of all of the windows (including the garage)
  • Cleaned the inside of several windows
  • Washed all of the curtains

Eating:  OK
