I love days like this

We have the day off from school since we had conferences the last 2 nights and I am using every minute of it.  After our nurse got here I hopped on the treadmill to watch TBL from Tuesday.  I might just start taping it on purpose so I can fast-forward through the fake drama of the weigh-in, the product placement and the stupid challenges.  Although I must say that I did enjoy the end of this challenge when Tara won in spite of the guys ganging up on her.  I don’t mind them giving her their weight but they did it in such a mean-spirited way that it showed a lack of class.  And Ron???  I had always liked him but now I realize it’s b/c I like  his son so much.  I swear, when he said he was giving his weight to Helen to punish her from straying from the group he reminded me of a mafioso or a gang member.  Oh well, I don’t like Helen anyway so I guess it really didn’t bother me too much.

Since then I have been cleaning like a maniac.  Our master bathroom should honestly be condemned it’s so gross so it felt great to get on my hands and knees and scrub.  I also cleaned out my older son’s room and weeded through his toys so that everything fit into his closet.  I forgot what color the carpet was in there :)  This summer we’re going to have an enormous garage sale and I can’t wait to go through everything I have thrown into our storage rooms in the basement.

Got a nice compliment today.  A friend’s husband brought back some banquet tables they had borrowed and he said “Holy crap, you have lost a ton of weight!!”  When I tried to downplay it (it still makes me uncomfortable sometimes) he said “No, seriously, you look great!”  Considering that my hair was still back in a headband and I was in my grubby workout/cleaning clothes I was pretty excited to hear that.

Going to take a minute to catch up w/a few of you and then get back to cleaning.

Oh, btw, I was able to stick to good eating after the puppy chow/cookie situation.  And yes, Joy, puppy chow is the cereal mixed w/peanut butter, chocolate and powdered sugar.

Days on plan this month:  17

Progress toward workout goal:  208/250

Yeah, I just cannot watch those shows because of the drawn out suspense. While I’ve never watched the Biggest Loser, I’ve been around televisions when it’s on. Just the music gets my heart racing - annoying to be manipulated like that. My in-laws are addicted to reality shows, I can’t handle suspense - I’m more to the point myself.

Kudos on your compliment! I am sure that felt utterly fabulous! You work hard for it.

Hey, I have a question about my son and education choices posted on my blog. If you have a few moments could you please offer your teacher insight?

I wondered about the puppy chow too. Yaha.

My sister and I call Ron the Godfather because he seems to make the decisions like when they sent Mandi home. No one was talking and he just said, “This week is Mandi’s time to go home” HE was all, this is what will happen - don’t cross the Family…. I was happy to see Tara win too!

    Congrats on the compliments!

What kind of day off is that? Take a break and soak up that compliment. You’ve earned it!

congrats on the compliment. I’m a downplayer too. I don’t believe it, and I think they are just saying that to me. Hopefully we’ll believe it ourselves one day

Ron and Helen both showed some different sides this time, but then the producers edit alot so who knows what we’re missing. I DVR mine as well, mostly for the commericals, but I have also FF the junk before. I was doing that ALL of the time with survivor, I got so SICK of the constant talk, I finally stopped watching that show a couple seasons ago.

I dunno, I thought at first that I would have been a little embarrassed about the “ton” part of his compliment… But then thought again… if someone actually said that to ME I would kiss him!!

Ron has totally manipulated his team into not sending him packing several times he clearly deserved to go! The show is so addictive and inspiring but I don’t have television reception, so I watch it on Hulu, but the episodes only appear on that site 1 week after they’ve aired (you’ll find me, every Weds. devouring the BL recaps at Televisionwithoutpity.com, though, just so I can stay abreast :)). I’m looking forward to the car-pulling, Tara-hating, Aubrey-sent-packing episode; I agree that both Ron and Helen can go. But Mikey= so adorable! I want him to be my little brother.
    Keep up the good work.
