Losing weight in unexpected places

I got home from the gym tonight and I was picking up some bags to put them away when I heard a small thumping sound.  I couldn’t figure out what it was but I knew that something had fallen into my bag.  Then I looked and my wedding ring was missing.  My ring literally fell off of my finger!  I honestly don’t know how it happened b/c I’m about the weight/size I was when we got engaged so my finger can’t be that much smaller.  But I can wear it on my middle finger if I want to so I guess my fingers have gotten smaller.  I wonder what’s going to happen after I lose the rest of this weight?

Everything else is pretty normal.  We were finally back to school today and I realized that in the last month we have only been at school 7 days and 2 of them were early out/late arrivals due to snow.  I did kind of grumble when the alarm went off this morning b/c it has been a while since I have had to wake up to an alarm.  But I hope we can get back into some sort of a routine.

It was neat to watch the inauguration today.  I know not everyone is a fan of Obama but you have to admit that he had energized the country.  It was amazing to hear middle school kids speak intelligently about our government and how it works.  Plus, I noticed at the gym this afternoon that every single tv was tuned to the news and watching the procession to the White House.  I wasn’t alive when JFK was in office but I imagine that this excitement is how people felt during his years.  I just hope that this president doesn’t meet the same end.

Days on plan this month:  13

Progress toward workout goal:  162/250

Glad you didn’t lose the ring!

I was watching some of it at the gym too. But I think it was recaps. I admit I didn’t vote for him but have hopes for what he can do. I got goosebumps watching the recaps. It’s always nice to see people come together.

My DH got back to work today after having 12 days off, so it’s really nice to be back in a routine. I’m really thrilled that he chose to return to the gym as well. He’s been off plan for a long time now (months and months) and has gained weight, not much, but lost muscle and gained fat. He doesn’t like it. I’m just glad to have someone (possibly) doing the same thing I am. I can’t express my joy too much in the blog because he reads it and you know how it is…. no one wants to be committed, cornered, or expected of. So thanks for listening! ;)

That is wonderful that you are doing so well and have lost so much weight that you have gone down ring sizes. Be prepared for when you try on your spring /summer shoes. They will NOT fit at the rate you are losing weight. This happened to me when I got all of my winter shoes out. NOTHING but the clogs fit! This is a good problem right?? ;)
    Keep up the great work!

I thought the inauguration was beautiful. I watched about 70 minutes of it at the gym.

Funny about your rings, because my wedding rings are literally falling off, too. And I am not even back to the weight that I was when we got married, so the skinny finger thing is weird. I mean, I’ve always had small fingers, but of all the things on my body to shrink, it has to be fingers? How about thighs? Maybe my butt?

I can’t wait for the day I have to have my rings resized due to weight loss. Congratulations. It’s nice to have little assurances that all your hard work is paying off.

I watched the inauguration as well. Even though I didn’t vote for President Obama, he is now my President and he will have my prayers and support as my authority. It was exciting to see so many people there! One estimate was that there were two million people on the mall! Oh, and I liked the interaction between President and First Lady Obama and President and Mrs. Bush. It seemed very warm and very real.

    Hey, Stranger!
Sorry I haven’t been keeping up very well lately but I’ve been a little overwhelmed.

How cool is it that you’re getting itty bitty??? Be careful with your ring and don’t lose it. I haven’t had my original wedding ring on since July and I really miss it! DH and I have renewed vows twice and he’s gotten me wedding rings each time so I have three sets. I usually wear the original on my left ring finger, the ten year on my right ring finger, and the twenty five year on the right middle finger.

Remember when I had that ganglion cyst removed from my left ring finger last July? I haven’t been able to get my original rings on since then. They’re size 4 1/2 and I’m beginning to accept that they’re never going to fit again. Still, the ones I’m wearing are size 5 and they fit fine. I guess I should just give up and get the originals resized but it’s like a matter of principle.

    hmmm..maybe I should just force them…

Oh yeah…12 days off!!! Are you going to have to make them up?
