Calorie cycling
A few of you have experimented w/calorie cycling and I’m considering this approach. I’m hoping it will help to keep some of these binges under control. From the little that I understand it would allow me to eat more on some days while still feeling in control. Sounds like it’s right up my alley.
This morning I got up at 4:15 as planned and worked out. School went well and then I went to a holiday party after school. I didn’t censor what I ate and although I definitely consumed more than my normal 400 calories I didn’t go crazy and I actually stopped when I was full. What a novel concept. Maybe just the pressure of not having to be “on plan” helped.
If anyone knows of a good book or website that explains calorie cycling let me know. I want to make sure that if I do it that I do it right.

I sort of calorie cycle, I set a range for myself but do not have any scheduled calorie days. If I want to eat to the max of my range all week, fine. If I’m not so hungry, that’s cool too. Currently I play with a 400 calorie range. That certainly allows an extra meal or treat without any guilt.
Good luck with it - I don’t know of a source but I remember (from my calorie counting days) that it wasn’t so complicated. If your average calories are supposed to be lets say 1500, then basically during a week they still need to average to 1500 a day, but some days you might eat 1200 and others 1800.
I’m sure there are more complicated ways to do it, but it was pretty much that. (It’s kind of like the flex points system on WW, by the way - builds in some daily flexibility for calorie variation).
Woohoo I’m gonna try this! I can’t believe how nervous I am about it, lol.
