Nothing much

Not much to report. I’ve been following the 5K schedule that Leeda is using for her 10K. I like it better than the couch to 5K one in that it’s clearer to use. My right quad has been extremely tight lately and no matter how many of those bent leg stretches I do, I can’t seem to get it to loosen up. I hope its not an injury and is just a tight muscle, though I don’t know how to tell the difference. I’m a hypocondriac, so of course I fear the worst and think I’ve torn an ACL or some crap like that, though I obviously haven’t. Goon. But I looked cute in my new gym outfit today ($5 pants at consignment shop, oh yeah), so I have that going for me which is nice!

By the way, Leeda, I also love consignment now. It’s my thing of the month. I got these pants I’m wearing (cute adidas workout pants with teal stripe) and a FABULOUS pair of snake skin nine west pointy pumps. At first I was kinda skeeved about buying someone else’s shoes, but there are so great for $9, I got over it. Stacy and Clinton would be proud.

Love that ABI (already broken in) stuff, esp. for kids–they outgrow soooo fast. That’s how I got into it, then started finding great stuff for me. Both my pairs of gym bottoms are ABI finds.

I’m glad you’re in on the consignment store wagon :) Sounds like you got some great deals. I grew up wearing used clothes, so I guess I’m used to it and never had a problem with. It’s an added bonus when I find clothes that still have the tag on them.

I’m glad you’re enjoying your 5k plan, you, me, yogaforchocolate, and lodyangel will have to meet up for a marathon someday! Have you tried yoga for your tight quad? I get like that some times in my legs and that’s the only thing that reallly makes it feel looser.

Go girl with your pointy pumps!!

I’m a consignment shop devotee, too. I love nice things, but can’t affort them retail, and I’ve found some really beautiful things at my favorite consgnment place.

You go with your cute workout clothes!

If you go back to coolrunning (where the couch to 5K is) there is information and exercises to do for injuries/ soreness. I had alot of trouble with my shins and the exercises I learned on there helped. Remember if you are a beginning runner, you will have aches and pains. I hurt everytime i ran for about the first month or two. Just hang in there it will go away…most of it anyway. And wait til you start getting the runners high! It’s a beautiful thing!

Love consignment shops and have found some really nice things. Helps when you are dropping sizes too.

Since watching What Not to Wear everytime I put my shoes on I can hear Stacy and Clinton making fun of them! I have even come up with a retort for some of them.
