Monday, day 5

Woke up grumpy.  Didn’t get to bed until after midnight.  Woke up at 6am with dog.  Usually she is ready to go right back to bed after going out, but not this morning.  So I left the two dogs downstairs and went back to bed.  A little while later, here comes the puppy.  She can fit through the rails of the stairs.  But the good thing is she went right to sleep. I was able to get a little bit more sleep. 

When I got up I weighed myself 145.  Whoo Hoo.  Got ready for work and had my iced cappuccino.  I am starting to like them like that.  Had a bar when I was at work, those i am trying to eat quickly as I don’t like that flavor.  Then had soup for lunch.  I like the chicken noodle soup.

On the way home from work I had crackers.  Those weren’t too bad.  Tasted stale, but better than the pretzels.  Drank a ton of water today.

Dinner was chicken and salad.  Dessert will be my last meal of the mango soft serve.  I like that.

I really like that I am seeing results.  My husband and I went for a walk tonight.  Just a stroll and it was nice.  He made mention that he can see results too.  :)

I am sure the weight will slow down, but that’s OK as long as it keeps going down.

 

Day 3&4

Saturday I woke up and put my walking clothes on.  Grabbed a crunch bar and a water and off I went to my friends house.  This is a weekly group that walks.  We took off and did 4 miles.  I pushed it and probably shouldn’t have.  I drank a ton of water this day. 

My son and I went to the mall and I had to walk slow.  This is not like me.  One, I hate the mall and just want to get in and out.  But we ended up walking all over looking for a belt.  Found it and off we went home.  I ate a bar when we got to the car.  Felt real weak and thought it would be better to eat than to starve.  I like having them in my purse, but had no water so that wasn’t good.  I think I am going to put a couple bottles in the car. 

I stayed on plan with food.  Weekends are hard I have found to eat all my meals for the day.  I had a good dinner of salmon and broccoli.  That was good. 

Sunday I was on plan.  I had the cappuccino drink for breakfast, I mixed it up and heated it, then poured it into my blender with ice.  Much better.  I will do this the next time I have one of them.  I had a bar at church with a drink mix in a water bottle.  I came home and had a chicken and rice soup.  Took a rest.  Had the soy ranch crackers.  I really like these.  Then I got ready for a wedding.  The dress I bought on Friday just didn’t lay right, I had to quickly find something else to wear.  I found a pair of black Capri’s that i hadn’t worn in a while due to weight, they slipped on.   Yeah!!  So off we went to the wedding.  No snacks for me at the wedding. 

But we did go to Applebees with another couple that was at the wedding.  It was so tempting to have a beer and fries.  But I ordered a water and a salad.  The salad was greens and chicken.  It was good.  And I didn’t feel like I was cheating too bad.  I am sure it wasn’t the best, but i could have done worse.  The menu said it was 550 calories.  I didn’t have my snack tonight.  I hope that is ok.  I am full and don’t feel like I need to eat anymore. 

Work seems to be easier for me to stay on track for eating regularly.  So I am looking forward to the week of work. 

I did weigh myself this morning and it said 146.  I don’t know if this is a fluke or if it is true.  I guess we will see Monday.  I am really liking this.  I am already learning things and preparing for when I am off the diet.  I am giving myself one month as that is all I can afford. 

2 days done

I started on Thursday.  I woke up and laid there thinking about the decision I had made.  One day at a time is my new motto.  Or have I had this motto before?  Well, I am sticking with it now. 

When I got up I weighed myself.  150 pounds.  :(  More incentive to stay on track. 

I had prepacked my food and I ate a bar out of my first bag.  Not bad.  Drank a glass of water to go with it.  No problem there.  I had the mango drink for my mid morning snack.  That was good.  Lunch was chicken noodle soup, not bad.  On my way home from work I had the honey mustard pretzels.  Didn’t have anything to drink so i had to choke those down.  Next time I will make myself a drink to go.  Dinner was tuna and spinich salad.  Yuck, going to be better prepared so I can eat and be happy.  Dessert was the mango soft serve.  That was delish.  I went to bed not hungry and that was good. 

Friday I woke up with energy.  Actually got up and got things done around house.  Had a bar for breakfast and grabbed my bag of food and went to work.  Today I had the cappichino for my mid morning snack.  Well that lasted me until lunch.  I had to choke it down.  I think next time I will mix it with cold coffee and ice and blend it.  I think I would like that.  Lunch was chicken and rice soup.  That was good.  Snack on the way home was ranch soy crisps and I learned from the previous day to pack water.  Those were good.  My thinking was since I didn’t drink all of my drink I can have another bar.  So, while fixing my husbands dinner and waiting for my dinner to cook I ate a bar.  Dinner was grilled chicken and spinich salad.   This was good.  I have more chicken left over for dinner tomorrow.  I really liked it.  After dinner daughter wanted to go shopping.  We have a wedding on Sunday and we both needed clothes for it.  We found her something cute then we headed to the ladies section.  I found 2 dresses.  One was $10 and the other $15.  I bought them both.  They were cute.  Plus they look good now and will look good 20 pounds lighter.  Yeah!!  I came home and fixed vanilla pudding.  It was ok. 

I drank a ton of water today.  I like water so this isn’t too hard to do. 

Saturday I am walking with friends.  4 miles.  Easy.  Plan to eat my food in the bag. 

Weight today was 149, but I don’t know if it is because our scale is off, or I am really losing weight that fast.  Guess I will know if it keeps going down. 

 

 

starting tomorrow

My food came today.  2 boxes of food.  It would have all fit in one box.  I went through the food and put it in piles of breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and drink.  I get to fix my own dinner of lean and green.  I will stop at store on my way home from work tomorrow and get greens. 

I put a days worth of food into a ziploc bag, this way I can grab a bag and go to work.  No worries about being in a hurry.  I put together 7 bags and will see how that goes. 

I did my measurements and had my daughter take my picture.  I need to weigh myself in the morning. 

I am actually looking forward to this.  The food portions are small.  Not looking forward to that.  But I can drink as much water as I want. 

I AM BACK!!

Can’t do this alone anymore.  This time I am getting help.

I am going on Medifast.  My shipment comes on Wednesday and I am prepping the house and my mind as I wait for the UPS driver. 

Today I ate some things that I won’t be able to have during my medifast meals.  I have seen the commercials for the M&M pretzels.  So I saw them at the store today and picked up a package.  Then I bought a venti carmel machiatto~nonfat.  I have to tell you those were the worst M&M’s I have ever eaten.  Still ate the whole package, but I didn’t enjoy it.  The drink was heaven. 

Tonight we are having homemade clam chowder. 

Going to start walking after dinner tonight with a goal of getting back to running in the near future. 

I have not weighed myself yet, but when I do it will repost here to keep me on track.

Last post?

I am really wondering if this is working for me anymore. Wondering if I should keep writing or just ditch it. So I will write today and decide later.

This has been a crazy past couple of weeks. The snow. My family. Scheduling. New shoes.
On the 18th my dad passed away. Knew it was coming, but still hard to take in sometimes. The service is this weekend. Family get together on Friday night and then the service on Saturday. Lots of food. He will be missed, but glad he is no more pain, and able to be in Heaven riding his motorcycle.

Snow has been a pain in the butt. Not only snow, but it is so cold. I have been out running and walking with friends.

I did finally buy new shoes. Went to the Nike outlet and found shoes on the back wall. Which means that they were returned by someone who didn’t like them. $30 so not too bad of a waste if they don’t work. Haven’t had a chance to run in them yet, since it has been so cold. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon.

Wednesday

Walked 5.5 miles in the rain. Just a sprinkle.

Food is all about the comfort this week. Homemade mac and cheese for dinner tonight. Small portion. Hahahaha.

Lots of water.

Monday’s run

I ran again today. In this weather it is “do it while you can”. I set my itouch for a 5K and took off. It told me when I had done a 1K, 2K and then half way. Then it says you have 2K left, 1K left, 400 meters, 300 meters, 200 meters, 100 meters, you are done. I love my new toy.
So, by the time I was done I had averaged sub 10 minute miles. Best ever. Paying for it now since I am sore. But I feel I need to pick up my pace if I am going to drop any weight.
Don’t know when I will get out there again. Busy schedule and rain in the forecast. Maybe Wednesday or Thursday.
Might try and find an ab workout on demand. I always feel those.

Sunday Run Day

I knew that if I didn’t get out there I wouldn’t this week. So I headed out and did 2.85 miles by the notes on my itouch. I really like my new toy. Makes me want to get out there and keep adding up my mileage.

It is snowing right now, so I don’t know when I will get out again. My goal was Monday morning, but might have to wait until Tuesday. Never know what is going to happen when I get up in the morning. So frustrating.

My first 5K

I did it. It was fun. Met my sister in law and brother and we took Max to downtown Portland. Along with all the party people. Max smelled like alcohol so bad. Could almost get drunk off the fumes. And it was full.
Found the starting line and got in line to get our shirts. My brother had preregistered me earlier in the day which was great. They wouldn’t give me my shirt till after the race since I had just registered that day. Which is fine since I didn’t want to carry my shirt.
About 11:45 we started lining up. And at midnight we took off. My SIL and I ran the whole way together. I had my new Nike+ in my shoe and used it. It was pretty accurate and I look forward to using in again.
Final time was 32:36, or something like that.

Yesterday I returned Christmas gifts. I had gotten 3 ice cream makers so I returned 2 of them. Walking around Target thinking about what I could get I saw the Nike+ attachment for my itouch and bought it. And struggled with the purchase the whole way home. Will it work? What if I bought the wrong thing? When I got home I did some more research and realized I needed a certain pair of shoes to put the sensor in. Dang, I don’t have those. So, I played around with the thought of cutting open the tongue of my shoes and putting it in that. But, while I was doing that I noticed that my shoes are the ones that the sensor goes in. COOL!!!! And they are one of my favorite pair of running shoes. So now I know that I can wear that sensor with no problems.

Sore today, so will only play the Wii.
