What do all these have in common? They are going down. The first one not good, but the second two are good.
I had cleaning this morning and I was able to weigh myself. 144. 3.5 pounds less than my last weigh in.
On my way home I went for my run. 3 miles and I was flying high because of the weight loss. I think I did it in 32 minutes.
I want to be a loser
of weight, that is!

I am so off on my training that I am tempted to just keep my running at 3 miles each time I run and stay with that. Ok. I won’t. But that is what I feel like sometimes. I think, there is no way I can run further than 3 miles. But I can. Today I ran 2.5 miles. After work.
Sunday I started showing signs of a headache and thought nothing of it. Monday I woke up and it was still there. I went to work and it was still nagging. I took a couple Tylenol and left work 20 minutes early. Went home and straight to bed in my sweats. I was laying there when my cell went off. It was my walking buddy. Do I answer it….I don’t want to walk. I am sick. I just want to lay in bed. Screw it. I answered it. She asked me what I was doing. Me: Nothing. Her: “Can you meet me for a drink? I need to vent”. Me: Give me 5 minutes I will meet you at El Tapatio. Suddenly my headache was gone and off I went(after I changed back in to normal clothes) and met me friend for drinks and chips and salsa.
I paid for it later. I only had one margarita and I don’t know if it was because I already had a headache but by the time I got home I could hardly see straight because my head hurt so bad. I stayed in bed all night and woke up with it in the morning. Thankfully it went away by the time I had to get up and go to the dentist. Don’t even get me started on that trip. I went to work after the dentist. Then did my 2.5 miles after work before it got dark.
Plan is to run 3 miles on Wednesday and 2.5 on Thursday. 5.5 on Saturday. That will be the longest I have ever gone.

I ran 2.25 miles today. Very slow and in pain. My knee is acting up. I gave the knee braces back to my friend who I had borrowed from and so now I guess I need to go by my own.

Not so Addicted

I went 5 days with no exercise. And I could tell. I missed my 5 mile run. And a 2.5 mile run. Today I got out there and ran 2.75 miles. I was going to go 3 but my leg had a twitch in it. The weather here is going to be getting bad so I have no firm plans to do my runs for the rest of the week. But if weather permits I will do 2.5 Thursday and 3 on Saturday.
Still doing my squats. Crunches not so much.

Truly Addicted

I must truly be addicted to running now. I am on this Hal Higdon program for training to run a 10K. Today it was raining and everything was pointing to no run. But I did it anyways. I think I am in week 8 of the training and it seems to be getting easier. To run 3 miles 6 months ago would have taken me a hour. Now I was out of the house and Ran and back in 35 minutes. So it doesn’t take me as long as it used to. So no excuse of not having enough time. Plus there is nothing like a hot shower after a good run.
Loving my new jacket. I don’t sweat like crazy like I did in the old one. And it zips off so I don’t have to drag it over my head when I am done running and can barely lift my arms over my head. The other thing I love about my jacket is that it has a zip toggle that goes around the head versus around the neck. So it fits more like a cap than a hood.
I did something to day I have been dying to try. My size 8 jeans. I have said this before and I will say it again. I used to be a size 4. Not a helathy 4 either. A sickly 4. And I have no desire to be that again. Plus I got rid of all my size 4 stuff. And all my 6 stuff too. But I kept all my size 8 clothes. I figured that was more realistic and cost effective. And I have to say, I am a lot closer to get in those 8’s today than I was 6 months ago. I got them over my hips, but not buttoned. I figure by January I could possibly be in them. That is if I can get past the holiday eating feasts. But if I keep running it could happen.
I modified tiny2b’s Old Skool workout and am doing a crunch, squat and lift some weights for each day of the month. So on the 1st I did one of each. Today I will do 5 of each. Tomorrow 6….etc… And then maybe try something different in December. Start small is my motto. I mean I came into this world about 7 pounds.
Looking forward to doing 2 miles tomorrow and then a day of rest. Going to need it seeing that Saturday is 5 miles.

Rainy Days are coming!

Runs are right on track for this week. Did 3 miles on Wednesday. 2 miles on Thursday. Took a rest day on Friday. Which was almost a mistake. Since I sat at home and ate candy Friday night. My theory was 1 piece of candy for the trick or treaters, 2-3 pieces of candy for me. We didn’t have many tNt’ers so we have lots of candy left over.
I went for my 3 mile run this morning. I was going to wait until this afternoon and glad I didn’t. It is raining now. I did wear my new jacket this morning since it was sprinkling. The jacket worked. In sprinkles. The real test will be when I wear it when it is pouring. But really…. Am I ever going to run in the pouring rain. I don’t think so.
I went to Nike store today. I was looking for a new pair of running pants. I like the kind that are narrow at the ankles. I don’t like to be tripping over the extra fabric when I run. They had them. And they were on sale. I think I will go back in a few weeks and get the cute running top that went with them. I wish they had more pants in other colors. A navy blue pair would be good.
Tomorrow is a rest day. Depending on weather I might go for a run anyways. I have to burn off those candy bars somehow.

Tuesdays run

Did my 2 mile run this morning. Good weather. Trying to post a picture from my reunion. But having issues. Today is not my computer day. Had a hard time at work. Almost smoked. But I wouldn’t. It was tempting. I just wanted to throw my computer and printer out the door. But I did get it figured out. And didn’t smoke or drink. Prayed.

Past week

This past week has been crazy. I have done all my running.
2 miles on Tuesday. 3 miles on Wednesday. Rest day on Thursday. I worked early, then drove to Sunriver(4 hours), cleaned my MIL’s vacation home for 3 hours. Went to bed. Woke up at 7:30 on Friday morning and threw my running clothes on to do 2 miles. COLD!!! In Sunriver it is cold. When I got back from my run I looked at the temp and it was 26 degrees. What was I thinking.
Drove home.
Saturday I got up and ran my 4.5 miles. It was ok. Long. Thankful it wasn’t raining. It was perfect out.
Looking forward to this week.
I am staying away from the candy. This will be the first year kids don’t go trick or treating. We are deciding whether or not to even answer the door. I would rather not have any candy in the house.
Been doing good eating. Jeans are looser.

Birthday Wishes

For the past 5 years I have wished for Transiberian Orchestra tickets. Always remembering to ask for them 2 days before they come to town. Which is almost always two weeks after my birthday. And never getting to go. So this year I made mention of them coming to town but not thinking of it again. I opened my gifts tonight and sure enough tickets to see them. I am so excited. And not only 2 tickets but 4. I asked my dh if we had to drag the kids. As I said this my kids were making faces to each other of “please don’t make us go”. Nope. I can ask who ever I want. I just asked my friends if they wanted to go and waiting to hear back. If they don’t I have one other couple I will ask. Then I will drag kids.
I have been running. Staying on track with Hal Higdon and going strong. As long as weather is permitting. And even if it isn’t my second b-day gift was a rain jacket. I have a rain jacket but it didn’t breath and I would sweat so bad I was more wet under my jacket than outside my jacket.
No Wii Fit. No ipod touch. Will have to wait for Christmas.
Not good eating for the past 3 days and hope to get back on track soon. My boss bought Olive Garden for lunch today. I ate 1/2 my salad and 1/2 my ravioli. Going to eat the rest tomorrow for lunch.

Sunday

Reunion was last night. Good time. Glad I went with friends. Would have been miserable other wise. Reconnected with a friend and hope to continue that friendship.
Felt good, looked good. If I don’t say so myself.
But didn’t feel good today. Not too bad. So I didn’t exercise at all today.
Will try and go for a walk on Monday.
