I have tried to modify the Higdon schedule so as not to be off by a whole week since I was sick for a few days last week. So this week I ran 2.5 Monday, 3.5 Tuesday, 2 Wednesday and just shy of 2.5 today. Rest Friday, cross train Saturday, 5 miler on Sunday. I hope I am up to it!!

Good for you for getting out in the rain. I went to the gym and used the treadmill, but there is no way I will survive a five mile run on the treadmill. I will quit. I know I will. I am a big quitter on the treadmill and it is so easy to just shut that sucker down. At least outside, when you get 2 miles away from home, quitting is not so attractive, because you've still got to get home anyway, and running is a faster way to do it than walking.

My goal for Sunday is five miles in one hour, nice and easy jog the whole time. God, I hope the weather is okay.
