Wednesday
Went for a 3 mile run this morning. Right on track with Mr. Hal Higdon. My dh is mad that I am moving on with out him. Trying to up my mileage before he can catch up to me. But I told my dh that I still have 1.5 miles to do 2 times a week, so I can run those days with him and hope that my dh ups his mileage on the other days. He wants to start listening to the couch to 5K. But he doesn’t want to start at the beginning. I don’t know what week he should start on. And he doesn’t have an ipod. We have 4 ipods in our house. Dd has one. I have one. Ds has 2, a big one and the nano. And he won’t let his dad download the C25K on the nano. So dh is thinking of using some points that he has to get himself the ipod touch. Here is the whining part. I WANT an ipod touch. I am hoping dh will get the touch and give it to me and then dh can have my ipod. So, I have to wait and see what he is going to do. My birthday is right around the corner and that would make a great gift I think. Plus, he wouldn’t be spending any money on it. It would be free. I think I need to start giving hints.
Back to my run. Felt good. Perfect weather. It sort of makes me sad thinking that fall and winter are right around the corner. I am not a rainy weather person. I hate running between raindrops. Maybe I will get one of those umbrella hats. HaHa. But working on the Hal Higdon program really gives me incentive to keep it up. It really seems doable. I felt great when I was done with my 3 miles. I even ran strong the last .25 miles. Usually I am dying, but I felt really good.
Tomorrow is 1.5 miles. I think I can do that.
I am right on track with the Hal Higdon too. Did my three yesterday and it felt great, and have the 1.5 to do today. I like having a schedule and something to shoot for. I put all the running stuff on my calendar this morning and if we stay on track we will be running six miles on December 7. Weather will be perfect, haha. Maybe we should start a fund and save for a trip to Hawaii and do our six miles on the beach? : )
Oh, and P.S… definitely start dropping hints for the new ipod. If your dh is anything like my dh, heavy hints are a real necessity.
I was in the mac store forever yesterday and played with the new 16 gig nano. Very cool. You shake it and it shuffles to another song. Also, they had the “old” 8 gig nanos (which I bought for my dd last year for xmas for $199) on sale for $129. I almost bought one, but I have spent enough money on electronics this week so I didn’t. Might go back when I get my next paycheck though. $129 is a sweet deal and I am running with my Creative Zen brick strapped to my arm. Not cool.
