Got a message from tiny2b in facebook & realized that if I ever hope to come back to this blog (and I do), I need to at least check in once in a while to make sure it doesn’t go away.
I’ve gained, I’ve stopped exercising, I’ve stopped blogging & reading all of your success stories that so inspired me. That’s the bad news.
The good news is that I haven’t given up yet. My summer clothes that fit so lovely & swimmingly last year are tight, but I’m not going up a size. I can fit into them & all, but it ain’t pretty. But, again, I’m not going up a size. I need to lose about 7 pounds to fit into them in a way that won’t get me arrested, so that’s my only goal for now.
The other good news is that my husband has finally given up trying to make perfect fudge. Thank heaven!
I’m going to buy a bike for when we’re in the UP. It’s nothing but hills for a good part of the journey I’ll be taking every day (to the coffeehouse or library to write), but we have friends who don’t go anywhere that they can’t get to by bike…very inspiring, especially when they bike 30 miles to get to a beach party. I’d like to try that & come back in good enough shape to bike to work without really breaking a sweat.
The bike I have now is one of those older mountain bikes. It’s heavy, the wheels are thick & heavily treaded, it forces me into that uncomfortable down-sloped position, and it just wasn’t built for intown travel. I’ll have to ask tiny how she likes the bike she bought last year.
& it’s getting close to summer, so I’m transitioning us to lighter meals.
Now to get back into those summer clothes & back to this blogging thing that was helping to keep me motivated & honest last year.
