right, I remember yoga
Of course, my muscles don’t. It felt really good today to stretch and do some of the poses that I used to do…that I used to do so much better before I added about 50 pounds to my small frame. I barely have any flexibility left, no strength to speak of, and my balance is a joke. There’s a lot there to work on.
Still, I’m torn between moving up to pilates & then working in the yoga later or just sticking with the yoga. I see fast results with pilates, but it’s so hard to motivate myself to do it in the beginning. On the one hand, I know how long it takes me to get accustomed to the pilates workout, so the sooner I start, the better. But on the other hand, maybe I should stick with the easy mat work and yoga while I incorporate the couch to 5k program…I know what happens when I bite off more exercise than I can do: one minute I’m happy & the next I’m eating everything in the house & blaming myself for not being in better shape.
Gee, did I just write the answer for myself? I guess I’ll stick with the easy mat work & incorporate more of the yoga poses in gradually as my strength and flexibility return. Then, when I feel like I need a challenge, I’ll return to pilates in better shape than I am now. Yes? No? I guess I don’t have to decide this now & maybe I should wait to decide after my first run in week two of the program.
