I guess I run now

or I’m trying to anyway.

 

the rules

My new healthy eating rules (so far, so good) are: breakfast, no skipping, cereal and maybe fruit; lunch, no skipping, something sensible like a big salad or a pb&j sandwich; snacks are not my enemy provided they’re in small portions & I count the calories, pretzels, fruit, veggies are great for these; dinner early and always with both a salad and a collection of munchie veggies like celery, carrots, and radishes; evening snack is fine provided it is measured and calculated.

I don’ t know if the scale is going to show any progress on Friday, but this first week has been about figuring out how to eat and finding out that I can actually run. So even if I haven’t lost an ounce, at least I can look back at this week with a sense of accomplishment: I’m walking more,;I’m trying to run; I’m watching what I eat, but not depriving myself.

And on Friday I move into week 2 of the couch to 5K program! I guess I’m doing it.
