Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

Every month I get a hankering for a glass of milk and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. JUST… ONCE… A… MONTH… And it’s all TOM’s fault! I barely even like peanut butter and milk?! My mom had to put stuff in it when I was a baby- she said I didn’t like milk lol. Thanks mom no wonder I’m so fat now!

Anyways- I have been craving it for like 2 nights and for 2 nights I have said “no body- you can’t have that.” Till last night I gave in. I had okra and chicken with rice for dinner- then about two hours later my body was just dreaming of that stuff- finally I gave in- made half a pb and J and then one small glass of milk.

Oh it was sooooo goood. So now I know- any second now that darn TOM is going to be here- GRRR lol. I weighed in omg the numbers are SCARY! I REFUSE TO POST THEM and I am going to attribute this all to the evil TOM! He’s the abusive bf I just can’t get rid of ;) I mean I haven’t changed too much in my diet- the few carbs I’ve added back surely can’t be the reason I’ve gone up so much? Even yesterday I had gone down back quite a lot- this morning I shot up like if I went out to eat and pigged out on the saltiest food! *sigh* I’m not weighing in till next Monday.

I watched TBL last night- omg yeah okay don’t watch that show so close to TOM! I was in tears like most of the episode lol. Hubby was looking at me like WHAT is wrong with you?! Broccoli was licking my tears and grooming my eyelashes/eyebrows like “what’s wrong? Where is this water coming from? Mama WHY are you crying?” lol. I put her to bed about halfway through the show (amidst protests from her and Cinnamon) and seriously as soon as it was done I rolled over and fell asleep.

Tomorrow I’m going to court with one of our best criminalists to watch her testify in court- she’s amazing. I’ve gone to presentations she’s done- so I know she’s going to be great. I can’t wait!

That’s pretty much it for today- going back to phase 1 ish for now- just in case I have gone overboard… Have a great day everyone!!

Blogger Award :)

Thank you Sunnygee for the Gorgeous Blogger award! It was very sweet of you :) I do work hard to post in here almost everyday and I try to make things interesting to read :)

So as part of winning this award I have some rules I have to follow:

Rules:

-Include the award on your blog or post
-Share with everyone six interesting facts about yourself
-Nominate as many bloggers as you like
-Be sure to link the nominees within your post
-Let them know that they received this award through their tagboards or private message them
-Share the love and link this post so that everyone will know the person whom you received your award from

I will try to figure out how to permanently attach this photo to my blog lol. I don’t play with the settings too much on here…

6 interesting facts about me, that’s hard as I don’t think I am an interesting person lol!

1- I am really into books, I read everyday. Unless I am about to pass out I can’t go to bed without reading a few pages at least! I’ll pretty much read anything- but mostly I love books about people’s lives. True or not- like “The Other Boleyn Girl” and “The Constant Princess” based on Anee Boleyn and Katherine of Aragorn, but obviously some fiction has been put in there- I’ve read the author’s entire series- VERY good stuff :D Currently I’m re-reading the Twilight Saga and am on the last book again. Go TEAM EDWARD! ;)

2- I work at a crime lab. I’m working towards becoming a DNA analyst. Currently due to the economy I am only an assistant- but I do apply here and there to places that are currently hiring. I do want to stay in San Diego if possible- but sometimes life doesn’t work that way. You probably already are thinking “is it just like the show CSI?” Yes and no. Yes we get evidence, yes we determine what happened at a crime, who did it, and so on BUT we do not carry weapons, we do NOT go to crime scenes alone, we never speak to victims or interview them, we don’t speak to suspects either- that is the job of the detectives. Also- we don’t crank out results in less than an hour and we all specialize in our areas of expertise. I only know DNA, I don’t lift prints, I don’t do trace analysis, I don’t shoot guns and test the bullets, and so on. I love how the shows make it seem like you do it all- but it’s just not true- we like our little bubble away from the world :) Oh but we do testify in court :)

3- I love birds :) My two babies (on my about me page) are the luckiest birds ever- though lately they have been driving mommy crazy trying to get at her crochet!! I’ve loved birds since I was little- you may think they are boring but nope they are very smart and just as demanding as a child- I never recommend anyone get a bird unless they have lots of time for it and don’t have large animals.

This isn’t mine though- cute isn’t it? :D

4- I just recently started to take up crochet, I’m having tons of fun with it and when I finish my first project I will show it to you all! My baby blanket is about 2/3s done I’d say :D I’m going slow since I’m new.

5- (ack this is getting hard) I speak Kurdish which is a language spoken by the Kurds, my family is originally from Northern Iraq but my parents left the country in the early 80s cuz of the war going on in their country. They literally hiked over the mountains to Iran then eventually fled the country and landed in Italy. Once their they claimed sanctuary and were allowed to stay. They stayed for two years while waiting to come to America- they were sponsored by my dad’s uncle. While they were there I was born! So yup- I was born in Bracciano, Italy, just north west of Rome :) Isn’t it pretty? I definitely would like to go back and visit one day!

6- Probably my most favorite cuisine in the world is Asian food. I love pho- which is vietnamse, thai food, chinese food, sushi, and so on. If I could I’d eat that way forever- but since I can’t eat too many carbs I have to limit that :(

Okay and there you have it! You all probably knew most of that about me- but I tried to throw in some new stuff :D

Okay- so as you probably suspect I read a lot of your blogs too! The top ladies whose blogs I read almost on a daily basis are:

Linda at Linda T’s Ramblings

Marbear24 at One Step at a Time

I read many ladies blogs and I wish I could nominate you all but I just picked a few that I find blog regularly. Fat Pants and Sunnygee and Sunnydaze- I do nominate you too lol ;) But since Sunnygee sent me this and picked Fat Pants and Sunnydaze I thought that would be redundant lol.

You ladies are definitely wonderful, put a smile on my face, and motivate me to keep on going! YOU ROCK!

PHEW that was a long post so I won’t go into details but this morning I’m already back down to 208. TOM will be here any day now- I’m already feeling bloated and I’m still sore but that’s okay- trying to stick out this diet while wanting carbs so badly lol. I was so busy last night I didn’t get home till late so didn’t make my lunches for the rest of the week, I’ll do it tonight- today going to grab some thai food next door- but I’m just getting veggies with chicken and brown rice- so it won’t be too terrible.

Have a great day everyone!!

Yikes

Woke up this morning pretty surprised at my weigh in but then again not really surprised? I weighed in at 210! *faint* I think I know why though- for one- I am SOOOO sore- hubby and I rode bikes Saturday and Sunday- I was already sore when I woke up Sunday- then to add another hour on top of that I guess was too much? I feel like my butt is huge right now lol! Then last night I also had pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds- very salty blah! Oh and I’m expecting TOM any day now and feel totally bloated! Though that could also be from the salt… I also was very hungry this weekend- I’m guessing that even though I picked healthy things I still went slightly overboard- and no I didn’t track this weekend, I know- bad beerab. BUT today is a new week, time to get right back on track :D I have an apple with pb for breakfast, chicken breast and salad for lunch, dinner will be something healthy as well, not sure what just yet. I have errands to run after work today so will probably run errands then make dinner then try to walk on the treadmill to help ease this soreness.

Anyways- the weekend went really well overall. I am a bit tired this morning but I think that was cuz hubby was up till 11 watching TV! Maybe he can stand less than 7 hours of sleep but I can’t! I slept in till 9 am both days last weekend. And I didn’t go to bed much later than normal on either night. I think I’m going to have to ask him to start watching in the living room then come to bed… It wasn’t an issue before when I got up later, but now it’s slightly starting to bug me that he keeps the TV on and sometimes forgets to turn it off. The TV wakes me up at night when the volume changes from the show to a commercial…

Anyways, not much else to say, got a busy day ahead of me- so I’ll get to it- have a good week everyone :D

TGIF

I am so glad it’s friday- I have been so dead the past few days even making dinner has been a hassle! Last night was simple- tacos and burritos lol. Just cooked up some meat and refried beans and then had all the pieces- my sister cut up most of the veggies so that helped. I had two tacos and a small burrito. Then spoke with two clients, ran an errand for my mother, and also made a strawberry kiwi salad for today’s potluck. It was supposed to be a full fledged potluck and then people were mad cuz it was made on Friday (usually we do it on Thursdays cuz it’s a ghost town here on Friday) so they changed it to bring continental type items- fruit salad works for me! I hope they don’t mind it has some orange liqueur in it tee hee ;) People were also mad cuz you know, economy is down, our jobs could be in jeopardy, budget cuts are in the works, and so on, people just didn’t want to celebrate “Boss’s Day” because they didn’t want upper management (Brass) thinking we just have potlucks and don’t work. The person who made the potluck didn’t even ask people if they wanted to have it AND at the same time invited all the Brass here- and we are like really you are making us spend money to do something we don’t really want to AND we also have to feed the big bosses from across town? THANKS… I won’t lie I contemplated calling in sick today- I did that with the last potluck I didn’t want to attend lol.

If you want the recipe here it is:
1 pint of strawberries
4 kiwis
2 TBSP lemon juice
2 TBSP honey
2 TBSP triple sec (orange liqueur)
Pinch of cinnamon (I used a little more)
2 TBSP toasted sliced almonds

Cut up the fruit to the size you want, I prefer small slices, then combine lemon juice, honey, triple sex, and cinnamon, mix, then drizzle over fruit. Refridgerate at least one hour to get flavor into fruit. Toast and slice almonds and add just before serving :)

I got my almonds all ready to go :)

Breakfast is at 9 am and so I’ll wait till then to eat- I’m not sure if I’ll be hungry for lunch after that since I’m sure I’ll eat a large breakfast- I didn’t bring anything for my lunch so if I want I’ll have leftovers- usually it’s all put in the lunch room until later in the day and things are taken home or tossed out. Today isn’t a free day but since it’s a “Continental breakfast” I may relax a bit- I haven’t had a bagel in ages so I’m thinking I’ll treat myself to one :D

Tonight have to meet with another client- it should be very quick and easy. Then after that will be seeing a friend and going out for dinner and this weekend I’m going to try and bike ride Saturday and Sunday. We might also be going to see that new Gerard Butler movie “Law Abiding Citizen.” Besides cleaning and laundry thankfully not much else to do this weekend :)

Gerard Butler is SOOO HOOOTT! Want to touch the hiney! OWWWWW! ;)

UPDATE:
The potluck was okay- it was probably about 1/3 of the food we normally have- but still pretty good. I’m actually impressed with my choices today- I ate very healthy overall I’d say.

I had one hard boiled egg, some yogurt with granola and my strawberry kiwi salad on top. Someone brought cut up banana so I had 1/3 of a banana and two strawberries. Someone else brought mini quiches, bacon/egg and spinach. I got one of each cuz they were like the size of a quarter- and the spinach one was AMAZING. I also had half a bagel with plain cream cheese- THAT was heaven! And that was it :) I hadn’t had a bagel in so long I can’t even remember when that was- so I treated myself to that- everything else IMO was very healthy :) Oh wait how healthy is a mini quiche? lol.

Anyways- have a great weekend everyone!

Blah

Goodness last night was just crappy overall. First of all my sister was doing a Nuyo fundraiser- so she asked hubby and I to go- Nuyo is one of those frozen yogurt places. So we decide to go after dinner (grilled shrimp and salad) and I’m thinking this place is going to be packed- nope there was NO ONE there and my sister was fuming. The event was poorly organized apparently and they doubt they will even make $100. We went in and spent $8 on two cups of yogurt. On my yogurt I put strawberries, kiwi, mango, a small piece of brownie and a bit of chocolate syrup. It was soooo good :D

Then went home and watched Top Model, which was a good episode- I love the top model photo shoots and lately they were sucking- but last night they did some cool samurai photo shoot- it was awesome! They looked like Final Fantasy Characters!

Here’s one of my favorite girls Nicole:

Unfortunately the samurai photos aren’t up yet so I can’t show you :(

Anyways- so after that I TRIED to go to bed early- hubby insists on watching TV till freaking 11. I had to whip out my eye mask so the light wouldn’t bother me then just covered my head and slept- so I probably fell asleep closer to 10:30 then 9:30… Then in the middle of the night I woke up from a TERRIBLE Charlie Horse!!

I woke up saying “MY LEG MY LEG” and my hubby woke up like what’s wrong? I could barely talk cuz I had my CPAP on my nose then I couldn’t see cuz my eyes were covered lol! I had to tear off the masks then deal with my leg till it stopped then after that I had to get back to sleep!

Funny thing is after all that I STILL woke up feeling refreshed- I’m not tired at all today- go figure.

Today is a busy day- a two hour meeting, then two hours of calibrating a machine that is needed at work and then little things to do here and there. Then from 12:30 till the end of the day I have another webinar to attend… BUSY BUSY day!

Oh and UG my dandruff has come back FULL FORCE- literally it was snowing this morning- I have no idea what happened! STUPID PCOS- I think I’m going to try this shampoo:

I’ve been hearing it works so I’m going to try it- at this point I’m desperate- I mean with the weight loss symptoms are supposed to get better- and the dandruff was pretty under control till this! Not sure what happened but I plan to try and find this in the stores today after work. I use dandruff shampoo each time I shower so I don’t know if it’s stress or what- but I’m just thinking I need a more professional scalp shampoo.

It looks expensive but if it works I don’t care! I’m tired of snow!! *cry*

Have a good day everyone- I’m off to have some breakfast- an apple with pb- YUM!

Tired

Oh man last night I stayed up till like 10:30 pm- not a good idea when you get up at 5:30 am! I know you are probably thinking well hey that’s 7 hours- no I’m more of an 8 hour person- specially with my sleep apnea. I can live off 7 but less than that I’m a zombie. 8 is ideal for me- 9 is heaven!

I’m so tempted to have coffee this morning… I have a stash of coffee bags for instant coffee at my desk, usually helps for meetings :) Now that it’s cooling down again hot coffee is definitely more welcome :D

Anyways- didn’t make lunch for today- was very busy with all my clients. One gave me new photos yesterday, another called cuz some images were not aligned properly anymore for some reason, our newest we had to tweak his new layout and send it to him, and then with another client I hadn’t received anything from her so I had to send her an email asking what’s going on… Luckily she responded and said that the project was being pushed back till January so we had more time (yay). Tonight I’ll make lunches for Thursday and Friday- today I’m going to get my old El Pollo Loco standby- haha they all know me there now when I call “the usual Bee?” YUP! TY! I swear they hook me up now- my salads are usually HUGE now :D

Yesterday we dropped hubby’s car off at the body shop, we’ll pick it up tomorrow- so with this and all the client work I had to take care of I didn’t make dinner. Hubby went and picked up dinner, he wanted mexican so I got two fish tacos on corn tortilla with beans, not the best but I could have done worse considering I had a hankering for carne asada fries!

If you have never had it- omg it’s the best. Not good for you- but YUMMY! French fries, grilled steak (they do make it with chicken at some places), guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and salsa *drools*.

Okay okay moving on… Some good news is the nausea seems to have gone away- so that’s a good thing- I was hating waking up feeling sick to where I was scared to brush my teeth for fear of yaking! Do I think that it’s going to help? I don’t know- I mean I know I’m starting to lose weight- but honestly I don’t give the medication any credit right now… It’s hard to when I used to take it all the time before- but maybe because it’s releasing slower it’s actually taking affect? Who knows.

I forgot to pull out chicken for dinner tonight so I have to call my sister and ask her to do that- we are going out to Nuyo tonight- it’s a frozen yogurt place where you put on whatever toppings you want- they are doing a fundraiser (organized by my sister and her group at school) so we are going to have some frozen yogurt- a portion of the proceeds are going to charity so it’s all good. Normally I don’t buy this stuff cuz I think it’s totally overpriced…

Anyways- not much else going on today- my crochet baby blanket is coming out really well- whoever has a baby shower at work next is the lucky person who gets it! I will post a photo of it when it’s done I swear!

Have a great day everyone :)

Give me a piece or two

Yesterday I made dinner which was DELICIOUS! It was so good I didn’t even get a picture- everyone just tore into it. Grilled steak marinated in onion with those small golden dutch potatoes and green leaf salad with tomato. I put olive oil, salt, and pepper on the potatoes then roasted them for 40 minutes (they were small potatoes). They were fully cooked and the skins were nice and crispy- my FAVORITE!

Then after dinner hubby got out some watermelon and was like you want some? I said “sure” give me a piece or two… Well here is my piece:

Did your jaw drop? Good cuz mine did too lol! I was like “I said a PIECE or two” and he said “that’s two pieces…” After I was done laughing I was like dang no wonder people have weight issues because of serving size! I only ate a quarter of one of these pieces. I like watermelon but didn’t want that much! My birds enjoyed it though lol. And they LOVED the potato- they were screaming for more when I gave them a piece- so last night they feasted on potato and watermelon lol.

Oh and hubby is fine with carpooling- he asked if we could buy a car cover for his car- I said that’s fine- they have them for good prices on ebay so all I have to do today is tell my boss I’m changing my schedule from 7 to 4 to 6:30 to 3:30. Last night I was SOOO tired I was asleep at 9:30! But I woke up twice last night! UG! Once to go to the bathroom and another time cuz my cell phone decided it was time to light up! Darn phone lol. I’m hoping to save a few hundred a month while at the same time saving wear and tear on his car. We’ll probably drive it once a week to keep things flowing but other than that we’ll be covering it up.

Anyways got a busy day today- so I will be reading your blogs a little later- have a great day everyone!

206.5

Wow, what an amazing number! I’m totally shocked, jaw on the ground surprised! I kept getting on and off like huh? Nah- wait- maybe- okay… WOO HOO!

This is good because my goal is to be 190 by the wedding (4 weeks from now) so I am thinking this is actually possible now!

I’d love to fit into those size 14’s by then AND be able to wear a nice dress to the wedding as well. I’ve started looking around at Kohls, they have some cute dresses I’m interested in, so I might go next weekend to check those out- just to SEE what they have ;)

Anyone tried body shapers or spanx or anything? I’m thinking of getting the full body kimora body shapers, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. So if you have tried them please let me know- since I have to order it I’d like to get it sooner rather than later.

Sooo anyways on to the weekend recap! Yesterday (which I weighed in at 208 yesterday so I’m surprised to see 206.5 today) hubby and I got up, had breakfast, then went to the beach to ride our bikes. When we got there it was pretty empty and there were a few people walking/jogging.

So hubby and I got on our bikes and went all the way around the area one time. My legs were a little sore I won’t lie- but hubby then felt he couldn’t go one more round and I was like that’s fine so we went back home. I showered then we went and bought groceries and then we also bought a new water cooler. Our old one is kind of gross and dirty. It’s been leaking and having a suction problem and making the water bottles tip over because it’s sucking so hard on them! Literally I had to throw away two water bottles because they became permanently deformed! Walmart had one for $100 so I was like good enough for me! I’d try to clean the old one but it was refusing to be clean! GAH! Now I got a nice and shiny and PRETTY one :D

I wasn’t really sore this morning which is good! I thought I’d be all high again due to water retention or something- but I did drink a ton of water yesterday! My butt is a little sore but I think that’s from the seat of the bike more than anything else.

I’m in work today RIDICULOUSLY (6am) early since hubby and I are carpooling today- I’m considering carpooling to save money since his car might as well be a money pit IMO… But at least I’ll be getting off early- if we carpool we’d probably save like $200 a month.

Anyways, tons of stuff to do at work today and then tonight when I get home I plan on getting on the treadmill tonight, if I have time to crochet I have time to get in at least half an hour! So today the plan is get home, rest, make dinner, eat dinner, rest, then work out half an hour, shower, crochet, BED! I’ll run the carpool idea by hubby- he has expressed to me he doesn’t want to drive his car as much (to which I’ve said yeah well what do you want another car?! pft yeah right) so maybe he won’t mind this- our jobs actually aren’t too far away from each other so it wouldn’t be too bad- I’d just have to wake up earlier… but for $200 more a month I don’t mind.

Have a great day everyone!

Saturday

No clever title for today :p

Had a busy morning so far- hubby and I are alone this weekend cuz my sister went up to LA for her bf’s bday. So this morning we dropped off his car cuz it needs new tires (yeah we had an argument over his driving cuz of this- seriously his car has less than 40,000 miles and this is the SECOND time I’ve put it in tires), then we went and picked up some supplies for the birds. We decided to buy these new perches so that we don’t have to spend $30 a month to get their nails trimmed. It’s rough so it naturally files their nails so they don’t get too long. Many of my friends with birds use these perches but OF COURSE my birds are afraid of them *sigh* It’s only day one- hopefully they’ll get over it.

Then we went and had breakfast at Denny’s I got the Southern Slam. Two eggs over medium, 4 slices of bacon (I don’t like sausage), and one biscuit but only gravy on ONE biscuit. I also had a cup of coffee with sweetener and cream. I’d say it’s a 700 calorie breakfast but still pretty low carb. Less than 40 grams if I estimated correctly.

Of course when we pick up the car it’s making a funny noise and we find the tires are rubbing against the fender- GREAT- so now I have to get the fender rolled as it’s only a problem on ONE side *sigh* I swear sometimes I hate that car… It’s lucky it’s gorgeous!

Today hubby and I will be working on client sites (pft so we can pay for his car expenses boo), but tomorrow morning we are going bike riding- WOO HOO finally! We are going to the beach- I’ll probably pack a picnic basket with some goodies, we can bike for an hour or two- then have a nice picnic and go home afterwards :)

Last night for dinner I made couscous in a tomato sauce with chicken and zucchini- I think I made too much couscous but oh well it’ll get eaten- one of the zucchini when I cut it open it was all dry inside so I didn’t use as much zucchini as I would have liked. I kept the chicken on the side and just threw it on top so my sister could have some too- but I made a lot so I’m sure I’ll be eating this for a few days (not that I’m complaining).

Anyways- that wraps up under random post for the day- have a good weekend everyone- I’m off to finish up some edits for a client site then crochet!

Just say no!

To doughnuts….

I was so busy yesterday- went to a meeting and a lecture and at BOTH of them there were DOUGHNUTS! BOXES AND BOXES of doughnuts- and milk, and orange juice, and coffee. Of course being in forensics I work with cops and I guess that naturally means there will be doughnuts ;)

Anyways- I said no and I’m sitting around watching people enjoy doughnuts and I’m thinking oh just one doughnut- but then my mind is screaming 208! REMEMBER 208! So no matter how much the guys poked and proded and said “oh go on, doughnuts are good for you.” I remained firm and said “no sorry can’t, my doctor will kill me if I eat a doughtnut.” I got a small cup of coffee and nursed that for the hour. Then we go to another meeting and it was the same thing! *cry* but this time I had nothing. :D The meetings were very interesting- one was about a serial killer from the 90’s who killed about 6 women before he was caught. The other was a presentation for firefighters/EMT’s on how to not disturb a crime scene and so on. It was great- I always love when they ask how close to real life is the show CSI? I’m always like oh it’s VERY different- we do not talk to victim’s familes or suspects, we do not hand out warrants, we NEVER go to a crime scene alone EVER. We do not carry guns and we don’t solve a case in one hour! I wish :p

Afterwards we had lunch and by this time it was 1 so I was HUNGRY! Lunch was leftover fajitas but with no tortilla- still yummy btw :) For dinner I was too tired to cook so I had pho for dinner- sure it’s a little high carb, but I really wanted that hot soup! I was COLD :p But it’s okay- today I’m making chicken in a tomato sauce (I’m cooking the chicken with curry) and then eating it with whole wheat couscous YUM! Some carbs- but GOOD ONES :D

My sister is all of a sudden on this vegetarian kick and she’s telling me “oh just make salads for dinner for me” and I looked at her like “you are 20, cook for yourself…” sheesh I already take the time to prepare a nice dinner- I’m not doing more- you have hands- cut that lettuce up yourself! I have no issue with her being vegetarian, but she can’t expect me to cook specially for her. I won’t even do it for my husband, he eats what I make or he starves… I honestly feel she’ll get off this soon because she’ll be hungry lol. ;) My husband thinks she’s trying to be trendy lol!

Some things I am noticing about myself: I notice overall I am not hungry like I used to be, food doesn’t consume my everyday life like it used to, I CAN say no to things, and I can say yes to things without feeling guilty! To me the weight IS coming off, slowly but surely, and it’s staying gone, which makes ME happy. I feel so much better about myself :) I can really see the changes in my face and torso :D

Carbs still came in at only 27% of my daily intake so not bad overall. I got to run, another busy day- so here are my totals for yesterday:

Calories: 1,283
Fat: 64
Carbohydrates: 85
Protein: 82
