Yes it’s finally here, the reason why I am so sure I am going to be the same weight at my next weigh in lol. I seem AWESOME at maintaining- but that’s a good thing? Right?
Okay, so here we go! (Warning MAJOR FOOD PORN!)
The first restaurant I went to, the Harbor House, is a beautiful restaurant located at seaport village in San Diego. Seaport village is a lovely place to go with family and walk around, buy souvenirs, and so on.
When we arrived we took some photos:

Isn’t my sister beautiful?!
And of course me, I think I look alright…

So we both started out with the oysters. There were two on the half-shell and two oysters rockefeller. Oysters rockefeller are cooked with spinach and cheese and usually with Pernod alcohol, a substitute for absinthe because until recently absinthe was banned from the United States, so I’m hoping now that the ban is lifted we’ll see some in the future made with absinthe!

I was the brave one and tried the raw oyster and yeah I couldn’t do it lol. I couldn’t swallow it- it was TOO squishy lol. I spit it back out OOPS lol. But I did eat the oysters rockefeller
On to the next course, I had the salmon and it had some sort of citrus glaze on it I think. It was pretty good, I ate it all, and honestly I thought it was WEIRD it was on a plank of cedar lol. I also ate most of the veggies and tried the potatos, which were GOOD!

My sister had the filet mignon with the potatoes and veggies. I thought HER veggies were better than mine… I love green beans!

She ate most of it and then took the meat home (which I had for my lunch at work the next day YUM!).
I forgot to take photos of dessert right away (oopsie) but I did manage to get it a few bites in.
I had the profiteroles:

These are puff pastries filled with a vanilla creme custard and topped with some chocolate sauce. I only ate one puff out of the three and took the rest home to hubby.
My sister got the fruit tart and it was pretty good according to her, but she also took most of it home- we were just TOO stuffed from dinner
I tried a bite it was pretty good.

All in all, the food was okay, not the best I’d ever had and I don’t think I would ever go to this place again- sorry Harbor House!
I mean knowing it’s normally more expensive, I felt that even though the service was very good and the presentation was very good, the food gets a 7/10 and the service gets a 9/10.
The restaurant my husband and I went to last night was Harbor Edge and let me tell you, this restaurant is at the Sheraton Hotel across from the San Diego International Airport. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, the chairs were comfortable, and I loved it- we had a seat by the window so we could see all the boats and the ocean, it was great!
Today hubby and I dressed a bit casually

Hubby didn’t like any of the appetizer’s so he ordered a seperate appetizer ($14!) and he started off with the crab cakes:

I also had the wine pairing (for an additional $14, 4 oz of wine with each course) and the first wine I was given (I told the waiter surprise me) was a delightful wine called Evolution which is a proprietary blend of white wines which I thought was DELICIOUS! I told the guy, I’ve NEVER tasted this wine before, what is it? I thought I just sucked at wine tasting lol.

My husband also ordered the scallops so I could try them and I had the lamb chops (changed my mind at the last minute).

Both were delicous! I loved the lamb chops, they were cooked medium and tender (no I have no issue with eating lamb- yummy and tender!) and came with some pinto beans in a tomato sauce. The scallops came with a piece of bread but I didn’t eat it.
Then came the main course (are you wiping the drool now? lol). My husband had the steak with potato’s and veggies:

He said the meat was very good and the potato’s were delicious!
I had the cioppino which is a seafood stew in a tomato broth:

Let me tell you, this was DELICIOUS- I ate it all (well not all the broth but all the seafood). It had another huge scallop, a HUGE prawn (omg I swear it was on steriods), half a crab, mussels, lobster, and clams! It sucked having to take everything out of it’s shell- BUT it was totally worth it and good, they gave me a special fork and bowl for the shells
SEAFOOD ROCKS! Hubby was looking at me like EW but I happily ate it and it was paired with savagnin blanc (pronounced SO-vin-yawn BLONK). Definitely yummy
The last course, dessert was SOO GOOD! Hubby ordered the cherries jubilee with cheesecake ice cream:

He said the ice cream was the best he’d ever had, he’d never tasted ice cream that was so smooth apparently. I’m sure they made it all from scratch
I had the molten lava cake and suprise it came with raspberries!

I ate all the raspberries, a bite of the ice cream, and 1/3 of the cake, I brought the rest home and gave it to my sister
My dessert was paired with riesling, which is a semi-sweet wine and I thought it went perfectly with my dessert
I give this restaurant a 10! Service was EXCELLENT, the atmosphere was so calming and beautiful, and the food was EXCELLENT- hubby and I would DEFINITELY come here again
The one other thing I liked was they left plenty of room between courses so hubby and I talked a lot, which was nice to spend time just me and him
I didn’t feel rushed at all and that’s one thing I HATE about restaurants- I like to take my time and eat, not rush through and be done with a meal in 15 minutes. We got there at 6 and ate through that whole meal and didn’t leave till 7:40!
On to other things- eating was low carb despite the fact that I ate out- the only major carbs I ate came from the beans and the chocolate cake, I won’t post my menu since breakfast and lunch were very low carb (less than 24g before dinnertime) AND this post is long enough as it is! lol.
I watched the biggest loser and I was crying through a lot of it (I’m thinking the wine helped I was pretty tipsy by the time I left lol- yes I am a softie when it comes to wine but I love it!). That woman who lost her whole family- I flat out sobbed, when my sister was like what’s wrong I couldn’t even talk! I couldn’t imagine losing my husband or sister or brother or mom, I’ve lost family and friends over the years, but if something happened to one of them, a part of me would die, and this woman lost her husband and two children at once, for her to be walking around and living life makes me have to much respect and compassion for her, she truly is a brave person!
Anyways, there is my huge post for the day! Have a good day everyone!
