I don’t believe this…

UG… let me start from the beginning. Sunday started out well…

I didn’t know but apparently we were having brunch with my husband’s aunt and grandmother Sunday morning so we went to Soup Plantation (also known as Sweet Tomato’s) at 10 am. I knew sodium content was out the window today so I had a little bit of eggs, one biscuit with gravy, and some posole soup with pork. If you have never had posole it’s SOOOO GOOD! It’s a soup that’s usually made with pork, hominy, garlic, onion, chili peppers, cilantro, and broth. I’ve always seen it red so I’m guessing it’s a tomato broth? :) I LOVE this stuff but had one cup of it :) I drank water of course. After I was done they were like come on let’s get more and I was like nah I’m good. Lately I feel satisfied with less food, I’m attributing part of this to the heat and part of it to listening to my body’s needs.

Dinner last night was pretty good but I’ll never be buying those packaged lentils again. I had peas, jerk chicken, and the Alessi Lentil soup:

I ate two pieces of chicken, half the peas, and all the lentil soup.

And for dessert hubby made snow cones- well, snow bowls lol ;) I ate about half of it before it melted- I’m not into snow cones honestly…

The UG part? I was playing with my bird and she ended up flying over to the coffee table and then was starting to bite my husband’s xbox controller. So of course I don’t want her to do that so as I walk over there I STUB MY TOE so badly! It immediately started turning purple and this morning my whole toenail is blue/purple! It hurts SO BAD. Needless to say NO I did NOT work out yesterday and won’t be working out today. I can BARELY walk on it :( I was going to miss work but didn’t want to- and it’s my RIGHT foot- so I drove my ass here and now it’s throbbing. I wanted to leave early but I forgot there is a moot court today at 3:30 pm so I’m like damn damn damn- I want to go to that.

Oh and the OTHER UG part is I weighed in today and I’m at 213! *cry* I’m kind of upset but I am on TOM right now- I guess that’s what’s caused my half a pound gain? *sigh* I don’t know what happened- I was SOOO good this weekend. Heck on Saturday I only have 1000 calories! I feel like I’m destined to be over 200 lbs forever. I’m so bummed about my toe right now, I’m hobbling all around and seriously feel on the verge of tears right now :( Even when I went out for brunch- I thought I made some good choices- I felt like compared to everyone else I hardly ate a thing!

One More Day…

I’m nervous- tomorrow is weigh in day- but this weekend I have been VERY VERY good. Worked out half an hour yesterday and the HEAT almost killed me- I was covered in sweat at the end- I showered and went to the salon afterwards- I needed a haircut! I had my hair evened out and the layers fixed. I’m considering getting my hair chemically straightened and my sister’s stylist said she’d do it for me for $250! Now that’s CHEAP compared to the normal $350 that’s charged- with tip and everything it would have been $420- but with the discount it’ll only cost me $300 with tip- I talked to my hubby he said I never really get myself anything (well got bikes recently but that was for both of us) and that he wants me to do it if I want it. SOOO next weekend I’m in!! :D

Today went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and the lady over the counter was like you look amazing have you lost weight? She said my face looked thinner and I looked great overall- I was ALSO wearing a pair of jeans that were tight but now fit me perfectly! I took them out- took a look at them, and was like sure why not- and BAM they went right on! THEN I was like the moment of truth- I was able to zip them up and button with NO problem! I didn’t even have to suck it in! WOO HOO!

Yesterday it was so hot food just didn’t sound good. The only thing I wanted was ICE- so my calories were actually really low yesterday- under 1000- for me that’s unbelievable lol. But really I just didn’t want to eat :( Damn heat I LOVE food! I did go over on fat for the day- but not by a crazy amount. My fiber was low as well, but overall I think my fiber intake lately has been VERY good :)

Here it goes again…

Happy Saturday MORNING everyone- yes I’m up around 8 am on the weekends :p

Yesterday eating was on point WOO! Got off work, picked up more La Tortilla tortillas (I forgot them yesterday) and then came home and made a yummer dinner. Tortillas with grilled meat and onions, lettuce, tomato, and cheese with some chulula hot sauce :D

It was funny later on I was hungry- and I knew it was real hungry- didn’t know why… SO then hubby practically begged me to go to coldstone- I was like sure let’s go. I wasn’t planning on getting anything so I went with him and then saw it. DARK CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM. I was like can I have a taste? And OMG IT… WAS… SO… GOOD… I almost orgasmed at the taste. So I got a “like it” sized scoop. Got home, ate half of it and put the rest in the fridge. Told my sister about it so she’ll probably eat the other half.

So then we got the movie “The Last House on the Left” and I will say it’s a good movie- it’s kind of messed up though- I mean it’s about two girls who go smoke pot with this guy and then the boys dad and uncle come with the dad’s gf and they are killers apparently so they kill the one friend and then RAPE the other girl and kill her too- but didn’t realize the second girl didn’t die. She manages to get home and finds out the killers are staying in the guest house… It goes on but obviously I don’t want to give it all away. I would NOT recommend this movie for younger kids- anyone under 14 definitely not. Besides nudity- when the girl gets raped it’s a LONG scene and it’s very disturbing. The girl is basically raped while watching her friend die… It disturbed me honestly and I was like when is this scene going to end!? Even my husband was very put off by it and was like eh… Though overall I give it a 4/5 :)

TGIF

I am so happy it’s Friday- this heat is exhausting- yesterday I went to bed at 8:30!! How sad is that? lol.

Yesterday my sister came home and the plan was to make the dinner I spoke of (Which I am making tonight)- but nope- hubby’s friend came over and wanted to eat out- I told hubby you two go out we’ll eat this dinner. My husband starts getting mad and says “don’t be like that just go yada yada” and I didn’t want to start an argument and we went to Denny’s. When we got there I was like no matter what I’m getting a salad so I got the baja chicken salad and then on the side I got ranch- I dipped into my ranch but still used most of it (for the strip and then the salad). We ordered an appetizer which was the buffalo chicken strips and let me tell you that’s my FAVORITE thing at Denny’s. I had one strip for my appetizer and it was GOOD- oh man I ENJOYED that strip lol. Then for dessert they were doing $1 cheesecake so my sister and I shared a slice (hubby and friend got their own). It was heaven also…

I went home to calculate my calories and though my calories were good the fat, fiber, and sodium weren’t. But I could have done worse- I think overall I made better choices than I would have in the past. The old me would have gotten a sandwhich, ate a lot more buffalo chicken, and so on.

Yesterday at work I spent over 2 hours moving boxes and stuff because our old flooring is being torn up and new one is coming in. I am counting that as an hour of working out- today my arms and back are sore from all the lifting. And the guys complimented me for my strength- I was the ONLY girl with the guys helping out- which was kind of annoying- if at least 2-3 more girls had pitched in we probably would have gotten done a lot faster… But whatever, I hope my boss sees how much I do and that I always pitch in.

ROUND my camera is a Casio Exilim 7.2 mega pixels. I bought mine 3 years ago for like $250 and I love it. It’s thin, sturdy, has a huge screen in the back, and uses SD cards- I have a 2GB that I use with it and that’s pretty infinite IMO. I love how it’s just slightly larger than a credit card and easily fits in my pocket :D

This weekend is going to be very busy- my friend from Temecula might be coming down to visit, I haven’t seen him in over a year- we did our master’s degree together. Then Broc and Cin need their nails trimmed so we are taking them in for that- and after that we have to work on a client’s site all weekend. But that’s okay cuz it’s a huge payout :D TOM is here also so BOO- what a way to spend the weekend…

Doritos

It’s no surprise I love chips, if I havn’t said it here I’ve said it a million times on 3FC. I LOVE CHIPS. They are SOOOOO good. I don’t know what it is but I can eat chips all day if I let myself. Yesterday I get home and hubby’s eating a big old bag of chips. And I joined him :( I grabbed a bowl, pulled out about 2 oz of chips, and omg FOOD orgasm. It was just so good… I ate my chip snack and then was like OH YEAH that’s my fix- no more chips- hubby refilled my bowl but I didn’t eat them- I gave him the bowl and went to fix dinner lol. Just for those TWO ounces though it’s 280 calories!

Dinner last night were my favorite spicy pork chops and some corn- I will say I am now corned out lol ;) The store sells it dirt cheap right now so I was getting as much as I could in. But enough is enough.

Today I’m going to grill up some strips of steak with onion, and we’ll eat that with tortillas and lettuce and tomato YUM! I think it’s a good dinner for when my sister gets home :) I’m going to the store after work really quickly to pick up some more tortillas for the occassion! Yes I’m only down to TWO La Tortilla tortillas! I was worried that a low carb tortilla would be disgusting- but these ROCK! So soft and tasty- I wouldn’t know they were low carb if someone just gave me one!

This heat wave is TERRIBLE 8 pm last night it was 90 degrees still! I just could NOT make myself get up and work out- I was sweating just sitting there! I turned off all the lights in the house and hubby told me I was crazy lol. I was like lights make heat! He turned one on as I grumbled- but I was playing with my babies last night so some light was needed I guess lol.

I took a picture of them with my NEW macro setting and look at the DETAIL in their feathers! So pretty! Cinnamon is on the left (boy), Broccoli is on the right (girl). I know some people say how come the girl is more colorful than the boy and that’s because they are both mutations. A regular green cheek conure is pretty much all green. Broccoli is a yellow undersided green cheek conure and Cinnamon is a cinnamon green cheek conure (yes I know I’m SOOO original). I call him pooper and her mama though lol. They only hear their names when I’m mad at them lol.

Anyways- today seems hotter than yesterday- this morning it was 77 on my ride to work! *cry* I’m going to attempt to work out and hopefully not die today lol! OH and got an update on my bike rack adapter- it’s on backorder for two more weeks! GRRR!! Gonna make do with the neighborhood for now I guess :(

Fun or BUST

Well yesterday didn’t go as well as I’d like. Our bike rack adapter didn’t come in and I was trying to call the company seeing what’s up. I ordered it on the 16th, I ordered it 3-5 day shipping, MEANING it’ll come by last Friday. Did it come? NO. Then I think it’s coming Monday- NOPE, and I was like it HAS to come Tuesday…. Nope :( My picnic basket stood alone waiting for nothing :( I got it at the swap meet one of the times hubby and I went (we love the swap meet) and I wasn’t able to use it :( Tried calling the company, emailing the company- nothing! *sigh*

But that’s okay, hubby and I still made the best of our day. “Slept in” until 8 am (I know pathetic sleeping in lol) then got up and had breakfast at 9. I had 2 La Tortilla tortillas, one with one soft boiled egg, half oz cheese, and half an ounce of ham. In the other tortilla I just had some hummus in it- YUM :) I’m almost all out of hummus lol.

Then we went to see District 9. We go and hubby asks if I want anything- I say no of course and he says he’s not hungry then gets a large soda and medium popcorn. I’m like what would you get if you WERE hungry!? And that alone was $10! RIP OFF! Our tickets were $12…

The movie was good- I liked it- not epic to me- but I thought it was done very well and I felt sorry for the aliens. I think hubby didn’t like it lol- afterwards he said we should have watched Inglorious Basterds. I couldn’t help but laugh at him.

When we got out he was like you want to get lunch here- I said no let’s go home I’ll make lunch. So we get home and he says “I’m not hungry” and then proceeds to eat a whole tub of potato salad and a bag of chips… I look at him like um okay…

Finally the picture is clear! THANK YOU SUNNYGEE! I changed the zoom to “macro” and it looks beautiful! I did this close up shot on purpose- but that’s my tamale with romaine lettuce, some salad toppings, wishbone just 2 good dressing, and a bit of cheese (I love cheese).

We got home and still no delivery so I was like dammit screw the beach- let’s just ride around in the area again- and we did :D For an hour- and this time we were better prepared- I got a pump with a meter to measure air pressure so now the tires are properly inflated :) It was so much EASIER to ride my bike! Who knew properly inflated tires were the answer ;)

Hubby made dinner and we had three cheese hamburger helper, I had 2 servings and that was it. I put in my calories and was like CRAP lol. That’s high fat and I was at 57 grams of fat so I didn’t want to eat anymore- though I wasn’t hungry afterwards anyways :) Oh wait I did have time for dessert which was my non-fat fudge bar! I know it’s a weakness of mine…

I showered later and then curled up in bed and just relaxed reading New Moon. I’ve read it before but since my sister is coming home in two days (yay) and she’s bringing a few books home with her I’ll have The Time Traveler’s Wife and The Lovely Bones to read :D I can’t wait till my sister gets back- I’ve already bought a TON of healthy food for when she gets back :D Lentils and stuff for miso soup and vegetarian items, and so on. She’s going to do the “fat smash” again and I’ll be doing it with her- I know last time on that diet I lost 8 lbs in 10 days (and kept it off) so I’m all for it!

Today the news said do not workout outside- it’s too hot- which when I went outside I agreed- 7 am it was already 76 degrees outside! So today going to wait till nightfall and just do an hour on the treadmill. Good news is today my legs don’t hurt as much after my bike ride so I think I can easily handle a run :)

If I don’t like it I won’t eat it…

Yesterday when I got home hubby was cooking dinner, cordon bleu’s with broccoli cheddar soup. I took a few bites and was like I don’t like the soup- so I didn’t eat it… The old me WOULD have eaten it then eaten something else.

Hubby also didn’t like the soup so we threw it out and we pulled out an already made spaghetti that hubby ended up not eating for his lunch. It was actually pretty good (he got it from Henry’s market). I got home later than normal so I was just like sure whatever let’s eat it. While I had been waiting for dinner I was starving so I had a la tortilla wrap with hummus on it :) After dinner I was stuffed but I still found room for my fudge bar ;) Sodium was a little high yesterday but that’s what happens when I don’t cook dinner ;)

It’s a little NSV for me to not eat what I don’t like, I’m so used to finishing everything on my plate. I grew up this way- looking back I remember my mom filling my plate with food and telling me to eat every bite. If I didn’t I was punished and reminded of the children in the world who didn’t have enough food to eat… I remember after a while I just ate everything on my plate, no questions asked, after that unless what I was eating was totally disgusting I’d eat EVERY bite. So now for me to not eat something cuz it’s just alright, well, yeah, that makes me feel good. It also makes me see that my attitude about food overall is changing. I know for me I won’t force my children to finish their plate, if they are full, then they are full. As long as they eat something I’ll be happy with that. I want my children to not lose that “I’m full” signal like I did- it’s taken me a LONG TIME to start properly listening to that signal in my own body. So many overweight people I know also belonged to the “clean plate club” and I think part of our eating problem was our parents forcing us to finish our food when we weren’t hungry anymore. I don’t blame my parents for everything, I mean I know they meant well, but yeah I won’t do that to my kids.

I’ve taken the day off from work so I’m home right now- blogging as hubby is sleeping ;) He has Monday/Tuesday off so I took off Tuesday for us to spend some time together. I’m going to make breakfast, then we’ll go see district 9, come home, pack up the bikes and go to the beach, ride some bikes then have lunch there :)

Yup today is weigh in day- I kept track of my calories this weekend diligently- yes I did eat a whopper jr on Saturday but I really wanted a whopper and am proud I only ate a jr vs a fulll whopper (with cheese), fries and a coke. Even yesterday when hubby and I went grocery shopping and he was eating fries I didn’t even have ONE- even after he offered many times. While his dinner was dibs ice cream, mine was 2 tortillas, hummus, grilled fish, tomato, onion, and some romaine lettuce and a bit of hot sauce (all for 430 calories). It was delicious! I LOVE fish :D

I guess my camera sucks at taking food pictures lol- anyone know why I’m having such problems with blurry pictures? It’s only when I do close photos…

Oh and Linda I found them!! I found the La Tortilla tortillas! My husband thinks I’m CRAZY cuz I was so happy I found them. I was looking through the area where all the tortillas are, then at the bottom corner I saw it- LA TORTILLA… OMG! IT’S LA TORTILLA! 50 calories, 10 grams carbs, 7 grams fiber!! All of a sudden the clouds opened up, the sunlight came in, I looked up and smiled as the voices sang “HALLELUJAH!” lol okay so it wasn’t that dramatic BUT it could have been ;)

After dinner around 7 pm I logged in all my calories and realized I didn’t eat anywhere near my minimum calories so I cut up 2 tortillas, sprayed some pam on it and baked them till they were crisp and ate them with some more hummus- I LOVE HUMMUS! I cut up the rest of the tomato also and enjoyed it with my healthy snack.

Later on when I watched TV I ate some 100 calorie popcorn and got in my 1200 calories for the day. I also worked out half an hour on the treadmill, it was very pathetic, I did a mile and a half in that time because I did a brisk walk at 2.5-3.0 pace. But my feet were hurting and my knees and so on so I didn’t want to push it- I broke a slight sweat and that’s good enough for me :)

I showered and was in bed by 9 pm, read my book, and at like 10 I wasn’t tired. So then I read until 10:45 and was like that’s it girl, BEDTIME! But nope! I probably didn’t fall asleep till almost MIDNIGHT. AND to top it all off around 5 am there was skunk or something outside that STUNK UP the area! I had to close the window. By the time I rolled out of bed at 6 am I was dead! I’m tired this morning and want to crawl back into bed…

Oh and what was my number you ask? 212.5! UG. It’s okay, it’s okay, I’m working on it, I’m not giving up… I’m going bike riding tomorrow with hubby- I am taking the day off since he has the day off and we’ll be going on a picnic :) I’ll take some wraps for me, some sandwhiches for him, and we’ll take our picnic basket and have a yummy lunch after we go bike riding for an hour or so :) I’m going to attribute this to the soreness in my butt and legs and arms… I just got to keep plugging along, next week 211 dammit!

Oh and I’m happy to say my sister comes home this Thursday :D Her and I have already planned to go bike riding this week and she wants to fat smash again so I said I’d make some healthy dinners with her that are meatless but I’m not following it full force with her. She’s cool with it, I told her she probably won’t gain anything back since I cook pretty healthy meals as it is :D

My dedication to Pho

I talk about pho a lot- I try to eat it once a week because one it gives me a break from cooking and TWO it’s DELICOUS as well as low fat and yummy! Since many of you have said you don’t know what it is I figure here’s my dedication to the yummiest and freshest tasting food!

Pho, pronounced fuh (like you are about to say the f-word to someone lol), is a vietnamese beef and noodle soup from Vietnam, if you are vegetarian there are places that do make vegetarian pho with vegetable broth :)

Usually when you order pho there are MANY MANY different varieties, different beef cuts: steak, fatty flank, lean flank, brisket, or shrimp and crab (pho tom), and I’ve also seen it with chicken and other meats I don’t care to mention… So you pick the meat you want, I usually prefer the thin slices of steak (pho tai), which are rare but as soon as it’s dipped into the broth it cooks instantly! So don’t be afraid if you go somewhere and it says rare- the hot soup instantly cooks it because it’s sliced thin. Then within the broth there are rice noodles and usually onion as well (YUM).

So it comes out looking like this:

A small tray comes with your order, it’s full of basil, cilantro, sprouts, lime, sometimes jalepeno, and so on:

This stuff you put in your pho, I load mine up with sprouts, lime, and basil.

I also put sriracha in it to give it a kick (the broth is actually pretty bland), usually there are a bunch of other sauces to try with your pho, hotter and milder but I think sriracha is PERFECT.

Put in a bit at a time till it’s the desired hotness you like, careful cuz a little goes a long way if you don’t like spicy! If you are new at it I recommend before putting any of your veggies to mix it in with the broth and see how you like the taste- it’s easier to mix in when you have no veggies in it.

And here’s your pho ready to eat!

My broth is usually pretty dark cuz I like it spicy :D You also don’t have to drink all the broth- I usually don’t, just a few spoons is good for me. And I eat it with chopsticks :)

I also eat the spring rolls with my dinner (this is usually my appetizer):

They are the BEST, fresh and very low calorie- full of basil, mint, spinach and pork, wrapped in a rice paper and eaten with a peanut sauce :)

So treat yourself- check out a pho house in your area- you’ll be pleased with the food I guarantee!

I am so sore

Gah so yesterday we went out and rode bikes. I didn’t remember how much effort was involved in it! I thought I was in SOME sort of shape- 15 minutes in I was DYING! I was getting frustrated because it was so hard! After an hour I got home and my legs were SHAKING. I did have fun but I want to say I suck at braking lol! I fell down and my left hand is sore now OOPSY… Everything is sore this morning! My legs, my BUTT, my back, my hand :(

I think I’m gonna take it a bit easy today lol- no bike riding but at least gonna do my half hour on the treadmill, a brisk fast paced walk if not a run… I can barely sit down my butt hurts that bad! I think I have to get a new seat lol.

I went out afterwards for dinner with a friend who called saying she wanted pho lol! I have converted another person ;) We went out two weeks ago for pho and she said since then she has been going nuts for it lol! I love eating pho because it’s healthy and low fat and filling :) I’d rather go there then eat anywhere else honestly :) I don’t feel guilty when I eat pho.

Oh and yesterday I had a whopper jr - cheese for lunch- not the best but I had been craving a whopper and the Jr got me my fix AND I didn’t go nuts either. That’s all I had for lunch but made up with the pho for dinner :D

Today I have the rest of the chores to do, clean my room, do the laundry, and clean my bathroom. I’m off to make breakfast now and try to relax a bit.
