Oh sweet Sunday
So yesterday was GRUELING. I went for a brisk 30 minute walk to try to burn off some calories that I overate. But the day before I was over 500 calories!
It’s so hard trying to change the way you crave food.
Today I had a weigh in and fortunately I weighed 197.
I trust that the week from hell enabled me to lose 3 pounds.
I did manage to get on my bike twice and walk once. So that was good too.
Hopefully next week is better?!
Good grief.

I really do think the worst of dieting is those first days — after a bit you settle in to the “diet mode” and it’s not that it’s easier exactly, it’s just that you’re used to it again, and hopefully you’ve seen some progress on the scale and that keeps you going.
Sounds like your first week was a success in the exercise dept and the calories too not so bad. The weight drop to 197 is a nice one, good for the motivation!
I have Lose It on my iphone too - I’ve tried several of the wt loss apps and it’s the one I like the best.
As for your calories, when I count calories I try for an average of whatever per day but actually do more of calorie cycling in real life - so move them by + or - 200 or so calories per day, that way I’m not eating when I’m not hungry ‘just to use them up’ and it gives me leeway on days when I’m extra hungry or have an event or just lose a little control. I find it keeps me much saner to count calories IN A RANGE instead of a fixed number every day. Just a thought that it might work for you…
Glad to see you back on the horse, Anngirl
